FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR has delivered a fatal blow to Amir Khan's dream of fighting him.
The undefeated American takes on Manny Pacquiao a week tomorrow in boxing's richest ever bout.
But Mayweather, 38, has confirmed he will fight just once more after that in September.
That rules devout Muslim Khan out as the Bolton star does not like to fight so soon after Ramadan, which only ends in mid-July.

what about Cotto 2? wouldn't be a bad way to finish the career by beating Cotto and holding titles in 3 weight classes at the same time
First fight wasn't close. Cotto is fighting Canelo.
Floyd hasn't just got one more fight left in him lol That's a lie.
But even if it's only semptember, Ramadan ends mid July, Khan gets back into training and he should be ready for Floyd by September.
6 week camp? maybe less? I dunno if that's enough time.
In the UK time of fasting which is no water or food will be like 4 AM to 8 pm something. I think it would be too hard to train
He trains in San Francisco doesn't he? but for a fight of this magnitude he could relocate to New Zealand or South Africa which would have less daylight hours as it's winter.
Ramadan is a fast during the hours while the sun is up. Most devout Muslims wake up before the sun rises to eat, they then brake the fast when the sun sets usually with prunes and a glass of milk, traditional prayers included of course. Most Muslims continue working through the fast and abstain from food, sex and generally bad habits like smoking. So Khan could train while recognizing the fast, especially because most boxers generally don't eat during training hours anyway. If not, Khan could train at night which would be perfectly acceptable. The fight also occurs at night so I call bullschit on the whole Ramadan excuse.

He got KTFO by Prescott when he trained through Ramadaan. Iam pretty sure from that point on he decided not to.
Khan wanted to take the easiest route to get a Mayweather payday. I can't say that I blame him, but fighting Algeri is ridiculous. Floyd should fight Brook in September than retire. And if Brook happened to win, I'd NEVER fight Khan! Have him looking SALTY... Hahaha
Ramadan didnt rule Khan out, Ramadan is Khans excuse to duck the ish outta Brook. I dont see how Ramadan eliminated Khan when .his opposition level is clearly the reason.
Hey Khantards! Your boys NOT the future, hes a mark at 147...why you think hes fighting Algieri??? Hes scared sh17less of Brook/Thurman/bradley.
Khan signed with Haymon in April 2014. The Alexander fiasco was late 2013.
Notice I said someone got in his ear in 2013 and that he OFFICIALLY signed with Haymon early 2014. Haymon is the reason for the Alexander fight fiasco. The fight was made with Golden Boy then suddenly he pulls out the fight. Why did he pull out? It's because Haymon promised him a fight with Mayweather. Just like Chavez Jr all a sudden pulled out the GGG fight and there were all kinds of rumors of him working with Haymon for months but it wasn't announced officially until the end of last year. But anyone who thinks Chavez or Khan weren't influenced or working with Haymon prior to that is just a fool.
It seems they are already lining up Canel v. Cotto. That said, I also think if Mayweather wins vs Pac, he won't take a tough fight like Cotto. Im thinking Danny Garcia, who is a big enough name and talent to not be considered a soft touch, BUT, imo, not as much of a challenge for Floyd as Cotto, Brook or Thurman.
Thoughts??
I think if its like that he'll go with Brook or he may take Cotto to give a final goodbye in "eff you" fashion to Canelo and Oscar who will probably try again to take a fight date from Floyd.
If you look at the timetable and Khan's opponents is clear what happened. Before 2013 Khan fought Maidana, Peterson, Garcia, Judah, Malignaggi, Barerra, Kotelnik and tried to fight Bradley who turned down the fight. Nobody questioned him about ducking fighters he was fighting the best guys at 140. Then he loses to Danny Garica end of 2012. Takes a soft touch to rebuild confidence then all a sudden in 2013 something changes. Khan starts doing interviews saying he's been promised Mayweather's next fight. Clearly Haymon get's in his ear and becomes part of his team. It's no longer just Golden Boy running his career it's Haymon and Golden Boy. Haymon is the only one who could promise Mayweather.
In 2013 Golden Boy has a deal for him to fight Alexander and Khan backs out the deal last minute. He backs out because Haymon tells him to because at the time Alexander is a risky fight and another lose kills the Mayweather fight. Early 2014 he officially signs with Haymon. Problem is Mayweather unlike any other Haymon fighter calls his own shots. People falsely give Haymon credit for the Mayweather/Pacman fight. Let's be clear this fight is happening because Mayweather wants the fight to happen not because of Haymon. Khan was lined up and promised Mayweather for May 2014 but Maidana upset Broner and Broner had a rematch clause which he exercised and was due to fight him again. But Mayweather switched and decided to fight Maidana. Haymon paid Broner to drop the rematch clause and Mayweather fought Maidana. Since then Haymon keeps telling Khan you got next but Mayweather is his own boss and fought Maidana twice and now Pacman. Since Khan got with Haymon he's been fighting bums that Haymon picks out turning down career paydays hopping to cash in with Mayweather.
Haymon has ruined Khan's career and reputation by promising him a fight with Mayweather that he can't deliver.
Khan signed with Haymon in April 2014. The Alexander fiasco was late 2013.
And what has Duck Khan done to deserve this fight against Mayweather?
Mayweather - Cotto 2 is on.
Not a chance. Cotto is with Roc Nation and JayZ and Haymon straight up hate each other. Goes back to when Haymon was producing concerts and jobbed Jay big time. No way he puts Cotto in with Floyd with that bad blood.
Cotto is taking his ass whipping by Canelo next, HBO demanded it to allow him to take a weak defense in June.
I love all the Khantards getting butthurt over this article.
Like I said, Khan wouldn't get the fight anyway, because of Ramadan. That, and he's fighting Algieri next.
I like seeing Khan fail at manipulating his way to a money fight by refusing to face anyone who would fight him and just expects to be handed a payday solely because he wants it.
That's a shame for Khan
Khan is getting what he deserves ........... Period!!!
If Khan hadn't taken the easy route during the latter part of his career, he would have been a prime opponent by now. But he took the easy way out and counted on his popularity and talk to get him the fights he wanted. Which was more absurd, because his one headliner in Vegas did horribly, which means he's not as popular as either he or his team thinks. And his rap, playing the Neo card was weak .... Meaning "My Style is the one", "I'm got the speed", "I've got the skill" etc... While losing against B-level opponents and barely winning against tomato cans. :lol1:
No way he should have avoided Brook ... NO WAY IN HELL!!!
Khan, without a belt brings nothing to the table for either Floyd or Manny, especially post-May 2nd.
If Khan had taken on all the top competitors in the division, no one would deny that he deserves a shot. But instead ........... :Flush:
Its not a shame at all, its called Karma.
Floyd hasn't just got one more fight left in him lol That's a lie.
