As we all obviously know; May 2nd will be a day that practically the whole world will set its eyes on boxing. What I probably find more interesting will be the after-thought -- what does everyone plan on doing in regards to boxing after May 2nd?
I personally plan to still continue to watch up and coming fighters, and exciting fights. I admittedly don't do that as much these days as I used to, but I don't plan on dropping boxing after the big fight.
So... will your interest die down in the sport after May? Will you continue to watch? Probably not as much? Lets hear your thoughts.
Feel free to discuss your opinion on Floyd and Manny; after whatever the outcome may be, as well.

My biggest fear is that no one will pay attention to the sport anymore.
Trolls switch to ALT account and jump on the next Bandwagon
I actually look forward to the the next generation in boxing! Watching New Stars Emerge is the entertaining Part! Once they get to the Top and start acting like MALE DIVAS is when things get BORING!
I will be insufferable on this board after Floyd wins. Especially if it is clear and decisive. Once Canelo-Kirk comes around though it's on the the next. This is truly a great year of boxing
And on suicide watch if he doesn't.
Canelo-Kirkland (May 9th) then GGG-Monroe Jr (May 16th).
Before May 2nd, Quillin-Lee (April 12th) and Matthysse-Provodnikov (April 18th)
To be honest, I'm more looking forward to the fight on April 18th than May 2nd.
exactly ,
how could u even ask a ? like this ? ..this is boxing scene ..ive been here 10 years ... i could care less if the fight happened or not after 2011 .. just another day 2 me
im %100 more excited for april 18th and april 11th
WHICH I ACTUALLY was able to get tickets to both !!!:boxing::boxing:
may2nd is a big spectacle for the casuals any Real fans no its a joke of a fight at this point it will be made competitive to warrant a rematch to generate more money :lame:
Not sure if OP realises boxing existed before May 2nd and will go on to exist after
I never stated that was my view, with it being the topic of discussion.
Well to be the fair to OP, I kind of get the point he is trying home.
This forum and the vast majority of discussions have revolved around this match-up. Some of the younger posters don't even known a boxing world that didn't include Pac Vs Floyd.
Personally, I've been around forums when Floyd Vs margarito was the talk of the town. When Roy Jones Jr was the FLoyd Mayweather of Boxingscene forum talk. When Tyson Vs Lewis was the most anticipated fight of "All Time". And so on and so forth.
Thanks for the response.
I was trying to make a point that not everyone was a fan of boxing before the Mayweather-Pac situation. Even if you were, I posted this topic so anyone can give their opinion.

Im contemplating retirement ,win or lose.
I feel like i put in so many typed letters over the years
been dedicated to my craft and have nothing left to prove.
Plus i need a new keyboard and a job..
You have to stay around to teach your craft to the younger generation, and to continue discussions.
I don't care what happens on May 2nd. I'm a fan of the sport and this one fight means no more to me than any other. If we are lucky, once it's done most of the fan boys will fade away from the various forums and we can get back to discussion of boxing again instead of two fighters at the end of their careers. So the day cannot come fast enough for me, I just want it to be over with.
The fight doesn't matter to me as much as it does to half the forum.. In fact I mostly dwell and thrive in the lower, more obscure weight divisions anyway so the outcome of this historic showdown will provide me with nothing but ammunition to troll NSB for a few weeks, regardless of the winner.
Now, those that have invested countless years in this fight.. well, depending on whether their fighter wins or loses, they will either disappear from the face of the planet or get pelted to death by me and their opps. It shall be fun :lol1:
If you completely lose interest in Boxing after this fight then you aren't really a fan of the sport and just a fanboy of one guy - which is quite sad that people will revolve a large portion of their life over a person who doesn't know they exist.
The biggest fight in history is happening, let's just be happy, enjoy the fight and see who comes out on top, after that we can enjoy even more boxing.
I see your point, but I still wouldn't fault anyone for feeling that way. These two fighters are practically icons, and have no doubt attracted people who would rather watch them as a person. I think this exists in any sport.
I feel someone can be a non hardcore or not even a casual fan, as long as there is no disrespect towards the sport, and/or they don't make an ass of themselves.

And by "you" I meant people in general by the way. :lol1:
