This has the potential to be a gigantic snoozefest. Two guys who would rather set back, set things up, and counter.
How do you think it will go? I dont know if my heart can take another snoozer on NBC.
it won't. like i said before look at history with any show. do your research. a debut always does its best numbers and after that the numbers go down.
i'm willing to bet my account on it. if the april 11th show does better average numbers than its debut i will leave boxingscene forever.
Lets do it, account vs account, sig it bitatch! Give th go ahead.
no not really. and 2.9 for PBC is terrible. if PBC doesn't get more viewers than it did on its debut then it's more than guaranteed that it is a complete flop and will be scraped asap.
So whats going to be the schtick when it does better then the first show? Because its certainly going too.
like i said in another thread, PBC is going to fail.
quillin vs lee is guaranteed to be boring. quillin isn't risking getting KO'ed so he is going to fight EXTRA safe all night.
danny vs peterson is the same situation. peterson isn't going to go out there and try and brawl with danny who can take him out with one good left. and danny isn't going to get reckless either because he isn't fighting a salka. it'll be a tactical slow fight with some moments here and there. it won't be good enough to maintain the attention of casual viewers though.
i expect an average of 2.9 million viewers on april 11th.
in terms of being a casual friendly entertainment show
UFC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> boxing
LMAO, 2.9m average is still higher then the majority of UFC shows, but if you tihk this show will do less, then you're an idiot.
We know you are a UFC fanboy from sherdog and you hate boxing. Thats real sad man, piss off.
It could be a snoozefest. Quillin is not a risk-taker as should be clear to everyone by now, and Lee doesn't press the action either.
But I think that the shots each guy lands will be significant ones, and they'll keep the crowd's interest that way. Neither has an especially good defence so I can plenty of clean shots getting through on each side.
It's a good fight for Lee though because he struggles with aggression and pressure, not boxing. He may well get outboxed for ten rounds too, but at some point he'll time that hook, and can you imagine how sweet it will be if he lays out Quillin with it? We'd be starting early for Paddy's Day.
Lee's not that good though. Chavez Jr made him look like a journeyman.
Quillen a lot of the time has some WTF, why arent you thowing punches moments, and I think it could be like that all night for an easy 12 rd ud.
What?! Lee was putting on a clinic in that fight, it's just that Chavez was walking through every big shot Andy threw due to his great chin & BS weight advantage. It was Chavez's ability to withstand Andy's shots and constant pressure that broke Andy down and dragged him into a slugfest that he never had a chance to win.
The version of Lee that fought Chavez or Vera II, puts a clinic on Quillin's *ss.
If Andy is able to land right hands like Guerrero, Konecny, and N'Dam were able to land on Quillin, Lee stops him.
I like that Quillin has brought back in his old sparring partner - Craig McEwan. I think it shows he might be taking Andy lightly.
Andy Lee is certainly a guy you want to root for. Not sure why. He just has that look about him.
If he could comeback from a few KD's make it a dog fight and KO Quillen, he'd get some fans behind him.
I think what make this fight interesting is Lee's vulnerability. I think if Quillin gets Lee hurt he'll close in for the kill like John Jackson did and get caught with some big shots.
But that's only if Lee is willing to counter when he is hurt.

Lee's heavily underrated on this site. He only has two loses. One to a Light Heavyweight and the other to a Bryan Vera, who he came back and beat in a rematch.
Lee has a good amateur background and a big punch.
If both men are willing to open up it should be a good fight. Lee is known for having vey dramatic fights and Quillin has been wobbled few times himself.
Lee's in the form of his life, while Quillin has been inactive for a year. I see this as a technical fight that will satisfy hardcores but could well turn off casuals.
