How it's always been. But I also think a bunch of posters/fans/media are drunk etc on fight night and just say a bunch of really dumb nonsense.
There is a lot of truth here.
Drinking at an event does make people hate quicker.
In general, anyway.
There are some terrible audiences in the US. Thurman fought well, probably should have tried harder to hurt and stop Bundu at some point but perhaps he was taking no chances with his previous injury or maybe him and his trainer were happy to get the rounds in. I understand the disappointment that he didn't do more but the booing was ridiculous.
Thurman having to have excuses made for him already, and all he fought was Bundu. Not good. This dude is getting less legit as he progresses. Screw the fans, sure, but screw your fights also. Haymon is going to sideline Thurman again for 2015. It must be an interesting position to be playing second fiddle to your peers, while getting booed at the same time. Respek.
Why so many people are mad at him cause he said that he KO Bundu inside 4 rounds and he called out Floyd etc...
You really buy anything what a professional fighter says before his fight to promote himelf? It's just PR, sel promotion, don't feel yourself cheated. Almost every fighter promises KO's, lol...
I mean I can't say anything more common in this sport than X says that he will KO Y.
Haha, it's true. Roach has said countless ***** to promote fights and hardly any of it has ever been true.
I can't believe it but I respect thurman more now. I normally hate on him but this is simply a learning curve for him. All these guys who hyped him up like crazy are now calling him a hypejob simply because they have the dumb logic that if you box you are boring. Sure, knockouts generate interest and make for a good highlight reel but if you are booing someone because they can't knock someone out then you should think about stopping "following" boxing.
Thurman showed his limitations and normally I would jump on this but he was very honest in his criticism of himself. I find it funny how some fellow UK fans called thurman overhyped yet he managed to beat bundu, who soundly beat an overhyped frankie gavin. And sure he revealed holes in his defense but it wasn't a close fight. People say that bundu switching southpaw confused him but what do you expect. Most times that confuses fighters.
People who booed thurman obviously weren't his fans. The guy can't stop everybody and if you think that then you are the one who has overhyped him.

He's a pretty humble guy it seems. He gives credit where credit is due and knows what he's talking about. He doesn't go "Oh they both get stomped out no problem" but he actually gives you insight and an honest answer.
It was a rough fight because his opponent was awkward for him. Give him Maidana or Porter and everybody will be on his nuts again.
I will definitely agree that he is ****y as hell up front but when it comes down to it, he is very critical of himself and honest about his assessment which is a pretty rare thing.
He is not a hypejob, I am still a fan, but he definitely showed his limitations and it seems like he wasn't genuine about the whole being a throwback fighter. It seems like he can only fight on the outside, and can't really take a shot. People can say he boxed beautifully but they have a very limited concept of what boxing is, by their logic inside fighting is not a skill because boxing only means to move away and potshot.
I have seen Thurman fight careful fights before against punchers. He would box at a distance and strike like a snake when the opening came and then finish the guy. But this Bundo seemed so harmless that I could not understand why Thurman fought such a cautious safety first backpedaling fight and I still don't understand it. I think he should have gone after that guy and tried to get him out of there. I think the booing fans thought the same thing. Why was Thurman being so over cautious?
I get annoyed when fans boo fights for no reason. If you want to see two guys just throwing crazy ***** go see a tough man contest. But on the other hand, this fight was a snoozefest.
Anytime you struggle in a professional boxing match or dont get the ko you are overrated and a hype job. However kieth needs to work on his inside game and defense

If you meant I haven't watched Bundu's fights of course I haven't and probably you haven't either. How would I watch him fight when they never had him fight on American tv which is what I watch. I saw enough of him to see he stinks. I believe he is ranked 20th in the world by boxrec so he is not a top 10 welterweight except maybe by some alphabet organization. Maybe you think Bundu would also beat Maidana.
As far as watching Thurman's fights goes I was a Thurman fan and I still am but he really let me down. If Thurman fought on HBO or Showtime I watched him fight and have him on tape. I think I have seen him fight at least 5 times and maybe more. Don't go making assumptions because you are no good at it. Just because I don't love the guy as much as you do doesn't make me wrong. Time will tell if Thurman is the world beater you say he is.

Thurman would outbox Maidana lol, he's too easy to hit and isn't that good at cutting off the ring imo. I'm pretty sure Bundu was ranked as well and I am also convinced that you haven't watched a single one of his fights either.I have seen plenty of both fighters and I sure disagree with you. If the fight happens I'll bet some good cash on Maidana who has proven his worth against better fighters than Thurman has fought. Thurman fought going backward against a punchless 40 year old so he won't likely stand his ground against a killer like Maidana. If You think Thurman will win good for you but don't try to force your wrong opinion on me.
I guarantee that Thurman's next fight will be against another journeyman! He will talk the same trash that he is talking now, before and after the fight just as he did before and after his last fight with a journeyman!
The Haymon Plan of boxing management does not work. The Haymon Plan consists of putting your fighters in fights with journeymen until they can secure a title fight.
Gary Russell Jr can testify that it doesn't work. Deontay Wilder will be able to testify that it doesn't work on January 18 and Keith Thurman will testify that it doesn't work as soon as he steps in the ring with an A-level fighter.
Thurman - Maidana should happen next. By March.
What has Maidana said about all this? He was commentating, so he what did he say in response?
I think it will happen on the Floyd vs Khan undercard
