Mr Thurman is entering what should be his peak years 26-32 years old.
Most boxers peak round this period, as they still have most of their physical gifts and have the addition of experience and maturity.
Next year is crucial for Thurman and he needs to get some B level names on his resume, I am dissapointed that the Alexander fight didn't happen, that would be a solid B guy that I believe he would handle, and it would get his name out there and somewhat legitimise him.
From next year on, no more Bundu's, Soto Karrass, Zavecks etc.... no more C level guys, 2015 he needs to get some solid B guys on his resume or his career will stagnate.
Any prediction? ......
bump...
Applying pressure on Thurman is the only real option you can take as a game plan. It's risky, but meeting him in the middle of the ring and stay there is even riskier and stupid. Chaves didn't have the power, stamina and tools to apply pressure and preferred to box, but when he did he was making progress. Unfortunately, he was just Chaves.
Let's see how Bundu does.
I hope Maidana will eventually take Thurman's challenge.
I don't think applying pressure is the best way of beating him, I think you have to box him to have success. Thurman can punch going backwards, unless you're a skillful pressure fighter, coming forward against him is very dangerous.
Bundu can fight going forwards or backwards, he's got good head and upper body movement so if he fights on the frontfoot he could make it a long and hard night for Thurman.

I guess chaves is a c level fighter. Yes he expressed his willingness to fight. So did thurman. Why haven't they fought? Ask al haymon.
Thurman is the wba mandatory, have respect for him. He's a high risk low reward fighter, if floyd don't give him a shot/retires. Then Thurman should fight someone decent for the belt, thurman should try increase his wbo rank try become mando there.
Don't know why Thurman is always putting himself in a lose-lose situation. Bundu batters him in a competitive match and people will say, "See he's a hypejob." If he wins on a landslide, same thing, "See this guy beat another Karass/Chavez/Diaz type fighter." When will it end? Alexander challenged him long before the Khan fight, he just kept on paying lip service saying he wanted him too, but didn't do anything to push it. He was offered Bundu, boom, he took it at the drop of a hat.
Thurman has to strike when the iron is hot. He has to step up in competition in 2015. He may be 26 but in the welterweight division speed is an important aspect and waiting around won't do him any favors. A fight against Maidana or Danny Garcia in 2015 would be great.
yeah, 26 is getting on a bit for a guy of his talents, problem is he doesnt seem fussed and is pretty happy with haymon tuggin him around

Wasn't Thurman just offered mad money by JayZ? I am baffled as to why he would turn down the opportunity to be the crown jewel of a promotional company. I guess he's tied to Haymon and probably couldn't accept if he wanted to, but man is his career being torpedoed.
Haymon is keeping him away from his other client's for a reason, he gets the last say on who they fight. Thurman needs to be telling him to Fuc off and beating up on the Watson's after fights not thanking Al.
Bundu is a very solid, skillful and durable fighter. Don't let his age and the fact that he's been under the radar fool you.
I'm quite confident Thurman will fight Maidana and/or Guerrero next year.
cmon son... we all know what "durable" means
you dont get it, of course you can deflect all day lol. lol this thread isnt about maidana or guerrero or anyone else but thurman lol.
simple minded ass people i tell ya
Lol you're all over the place, how ironic is it for you to say i'm 'deflecting' when you have avoided my question twice. The question i asked is based on what YOU said about Thurman. You obviously don't want to answer the checkmate question so it's cool anyways.
Chill tha fck out guys, son is just 23 fights in. I can assure you that Keith is going to get his break rather sooner than later, i am thinking his next opponent after Bundu is going to be an elite welterweight.
Thurman is sitting back hoping a big fight comes his way....he needs to go find a big fight and take a big risk like all the ATGs did....Haymon is producing well paid but spoiled fighters.....the perfect fight for Thurman to get that buzz he's looking for is......
Lara..another fighter who cant get good fights.
Lara had his chance on the big stage and blew it. That's his own fault.
