This Talk of Fighters Having "Balls"...

.....is a load of old codswallop. Yeah I said it......codswallop! All fighters have balls to a certain degree. It takes balls to step through the ropes and I commend all fighters for having that. They also have brains. No one is just going out there for free for your personal entertainment. All I read on here is about how some unknown foreign fighter just went out and faced a killer for a bus fare and a bag of rice in front of 4 people. And how much "BALLZ" it took for him to do that. It doesn't any extra balls to do what you're forced to do to earn money and become relevant in the sport of boxing. No one knows who these dudes are and they don't have a load of other attractive options. If Yoshi Kamegushi or whoever was signed by Al Haymon and offered 750k to fight a Rod Salka type opponent on Showtime, do you actually think he'd say, "No thankyou Mister. Ar Haymon sir, I lather fight undefeated kirrer Loman Gonzarez for handfur of lice" I'm sure these guys are getting the best paydays of their lives to take these fights, they are just not in the limelight as much as other boxers so they get this unwarranted extra praise for no reason. I keep hearing how Kiko Martinez has massive balls for coming to Belfast to fight Frampton. Do people not know he turned down the fight several times in the past and needed to be paid a ridiculous amount to eventually agree? Come on now. Can we stop this "balls" talk? There are almost no instances of fighters actually letting their hearts rule their heads in this day and age. It may not be what you want to hear but it's true. Arturo gatti,diego corrales, chavez sr,mikey ward, morales,Marquez ,even berto= balls Victor Ortiz,Malik Scott,Anthony Peterson= example of fighters with no balls.

I'd go as far as saying only a tiny % of boxing fans have ever actually boxed as at least an amateur to realize the guts required to get in the ring. Edit: Also if pro-boxing wasn't so unforgiving regarding losses then I'm sure there will be many fighters who'd take a try at beating GGG and Kovalev, but since 1 loss translates in to becoming a bum, most don't bother, but doesn't mean they don't have balls. Not true. Canelo could have moved up to 160, fought Rubio, fought Kid Chocolate, fought Martinez himself, but chose to take on Erislandy Lara. Knowing full well that Lara would bring nothing to the table financially. Also Donaire didn't have to fight Rigo. There were talks of him moving up in weight and facing Puerto Rican star Juanma Lopez, or even Salido. More lucrative fights, yet he chose Rigo. He doesn't want to move up to 160. He's made that clear. There were no other options at 154 other than Lara that would have justified a PPV. I still commend the fight but it's not like he had other options. Which explains why they've had to take his next fight off PPV and are looking at guys like Clottey.... I can't remember much about the Donaire/Rigo situation so I won't comment on that.

Yes the Lara fight was a great fight to take but it was also his only real option - who else was there that could justify a PPV? This isn't exactly true. Canelo for instance could have fought easy competition and been paid handsomely, yet he has chosen (against the advise of his promoters) to take fights against Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara. Regardless of what your opinion about the outcome of those fights, you had to give props to Nelo for taking those fights when he didn't have to. Cotto is another example. He could have taken an easy money fight after his Mayweather fight, yet he choose to fight Austin Trout for less money. He could have also taken on Canelo in a fight this summer for a lot of money but instead chose to challenge himself against the #1 middleweight. Finally you have Nonito Donaire. Nonito was being build up as the next great filipino fighter. He could have easily bypassed Rigondeaux, but chose to take him on instead. He lost, but he proved he had balls. While I agree with you that today's boxing it has to make business sense for a fight to be made, I disagree that there are no examples of the opposite happening.

The last people questioning a fighters "Testicular Fortitude" should be faceless people on a Boxing Forum (Myself Included). I would never call a man that can kick my ass "A COWARD" or say he "LACK BALLS" because he does something for a living that I know I can't do. I don't think I can make it a full day past some of these guys workout regiment so I would sound stupid trying to question these guys. I always try to be respectful to fighters Win or Lose because I am firstly a FAN OF THE SPORT so by me being a fan that means I RESPECT WHAT THEY DO FOR A LIVING which is why I watch. The difference between Charlie Z and the sh1t talkers on this for is that...At Least Charlie Z has the balls to show up to fight the Pro Fighters he TROLL and talk sh1t to on Social Media Anybody can talk/post sh1t on the internet but not everybody can BOX! disagree on this one bro: mayweather, bradley, broner didn't have balls when they very publicly ducked khan.. those were some of the most indisputable ducks in boxing history cos they were so public and inarguable.. so whether they have balls sometimes doesn't matter because they showed that when it came to facing khan their balls were MIA
