Jim Ross has a new blog on jrsbarbq.com where he talked about doing some boxing commentary on Memorial Day:
"Very grateful to Fox Sports and Golden Boy PromotionsAd by websave for extending me the opportunity to jump back on some play by playAd by websave for their Memorial Day night boxing from Ft. BlissAd by websave, Texas that will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1. My old pal Mauro Ranallo will "coachAd by websave me up" and I will be ready to rock the Monday night away.
I've been a lifelong boxing fan so this will be a big thrill for me to be able to stick my toe in new water. I hope that you will check it out and I will have more info on the special night in the next few days. My late father was a HUGE boxing fan and I know that he would be so proud of me which makes the whole process a winAd by websave before I even fly to El Paso."
He tried so hard to jump on the MMA bandwagon and that included bashing boxing....so f-um.
dude EVERYONE was doing that including people who loved boxing now they got tired of the novelty and went back to Boxing while mma just hovers around..
JR is a big boxing fan. Back in the late 90s he'd always reference big fights that happened Saturday during a Sunday night paper view.
I remember him saying Taker was throwin jabs like "Delahoya and Quartey that night" :lol1: I was shocked, but war Jim!
bring out Jerry the King .The man loves him some B1tches can't go wrong with that imagine him commentating a women's boxing match "and the puppies are flying up and down as the beautiful blahblah slips around the ring"
If Showtime is smart they'll kick off Mauro Ranallo and put Ross in there. Imagine him calling a Wilder, One Time, Matthysse or any KO artist's fight. That would be brilliance
At first glance I'm very opposed to it, but Jim might breathe some fresh air into the air waves LOL I guess it just depends on how high his boxing IQ is. I don't want him up there making up stuff just to hype it up.
