Everlast MX glove inspection (vid)

I have to say I agree and disagree with Floyd on this and the video is spot on about the gloves not being tainted. What Mayweather is trying come at is that boxing should have one type of gloves and not many varieties in order to make the fight fair. You don't want one fighter to have stronger punches due to the glove having less padding which might give you a better chance to hurt your opponent, as well as yourself. The reason I disagree with Floyd is the fact that hours before the fight is no time nor the place to display and take on such a campaign. He has been in the game for a good while and knows that there are different types of gloves. If he wanted to change something in boxing, he should have done it well before the fight. You can't simply decide to break the rules on d-day; if the commission said the gloves are fine, then they are fine. I'm hoping Maidana's camp won't budge on this and go along with the stock 8oz Everlast MX gloves that the commission approved. reasonable post here!!! good one and unbiased

His LAST 2 FIGHTS have taken place at 154, meaning he is used to 10oz gloves. With Ellerbe creating such a scandal, he got alarmed himself by the difference and got caught in the moment. They both looked like novices feeling them for the first time. Not to mention, THE PADDING of the MX pushes up when the glove is TAPED giving them a fuller / balloon looking shape. EXACTLY, as soon as he sees those MX on Maidana he will make that awkward face he makes when he is uncomfortable lol. I truly hope Maidana batters him brutally. This isn't exactly new information to the people actually involved in the fight game :dunno: It was just the single blue pair of Everlast that looked beat in a little bit Agreed, and judging by the damage control Everlast has been doing today (talking to any reporter that will listen) I don't think they're happy with the impression that was given.

WHAT amazes me is this... FANS NOR FLOYD (&HIS TEAM) seem to be aware that the MX and Cleto Reyes are made for punchers. Lighter padding / distributed differently. The Grant gloves are made puffier to PROTECT HANDS, the padding is distributed in a way to give comfort and support to the hand. He felt them for the first time and knowing he is facing a puncher who's biggest asset is POWER, he got scared / agitated. ALSO these are 8OZ GLOVES, 147 is the limit to wear 8OZ gloves. When you fight at 154 YOU CAN'T WEAR 8oz (unless you make a special request), you have to wear 10oz. That's why Floyd got so alarmed at the difference. Stop spreading misinformation. You clearly haven't used Grants. The normal grants are hard as hell with very stiff leather. They can be very unforgiving on your hands and your opponent. Floyd and a few others wear a special type of Grant that features extra padding for people with hand issues. This is not secret info. This has been out there for years

Of course Floyd is aware of this, why the hell do you think he avoids using Reyes gloves and doesn't want to see anybody he fights use Reyes? He's got brittle hands, he needs gloves that protect his hands, that's why he wore the Winning gloves vs Judah. But they offer too much protection and don't hurt his opponents enough which is why he's now using Grant gloves, they make orthopedic gloves. They're a mix between Winning and Reyes gloves. This is all just a way for him to get inside Maidana's head, for him to get angry, not fight smart, fight aggressive and force him to make mistakes, play Floyd's game and then get knocked out.
