How would Madiana vs Jmm at 147 play out?? who wins

JMM not having great legs anymore is definitely a factor, but his skill level is still going to be a huge problem for Maidana. He's going to eat a ton of clean shots walking in, and even more when Marquez starts throwing with him. Maidana's shots would affect Marquez for sure, but nobody has ever beaten this guy down. All his defeats have been to opponents with fast hands and lots of mobility. Maidana's not some monster welterweight either. This isn't Margarito we're talking about.

I like Marquez in this fight but age can always immediately impose itself on Ol Marquez.

Marquez always takes tons of shots, before he counters and wears down guys like Maidana. He's not going to do that against Maidana at 147. Maidana easily.

Tough matchup to call. Maidana's come forward style does suit Marquez. And Lopez, who doesn't have the power of Marquez, was able to badly hurt Maidana to the body. Marquez is a very good body puncher, combination puncher, and counterpuncher. Maidana is still pretty open to being hit. Broner didn't have the power to take advantage, but Marquez is a different beast. Marquez showed in his last fight he can still compete with far more skilled and faster fighters than Maidana. I suppose we need to see how Marquez looks against Alvarado. But I'm inclined to think Marquez's style advantage, power, counterpunching, and intelligence would lead to either a wide unanimous decision or a knockout of Maidana.

marquez isnt a 147 pounder, maidanas gonna clip his ass and will be all over him. maidana throws from angles so good luck with marquezing countering. marquez is too small for 147 imo which is why i wouldn't favour him.

This is pretty tough, but I'm gonna go with Maidana. With JMM at this age, I can see Maidana just being too much. Marcos would certainly eat his share of shots though.

Vote and discuss JMM outboxes him and outworks him, they both end up bloody and both go down but JMM UD's him if Maidana doesn't stop him with 1 punch at any given time throughout the fight.

Stylistically JMM has the upperhand, but JMM can be hit and Maidana has dynamite in his hands, so it would be interesting! :boxing:

Jmm is a thinking mans fighter he figures out maidana in the ring and beats him.

marquez is a great combination puncher and would cpounter maidana but i think maidana would bring the heat, bully and beat marquez up. This is the type of matchup marquez ducks

The only way MM loses is if Roidquez has extra stuff in his ass. Otherwise, MM by KO. He is too BIG and too strong for Juan. Juan would not be able to keep MM off of him and he has never faced such a violent, in your face style before. Remember, a counter puncher needs space and time to think to know what shot to throw. MM won't give him time or space to think and he hits you EVERYWHERE! Do you like M&Ms?

In 2014, Maidana would put some serious damage on Marquez. Possibly even stop him.

marquez may get hurt, put on his arse a couple times, but maidana would take too many flush shots and get stopped in the later rounds.

Marquez probably but he might have slipped enough to be ko:ed. A little slower reactions and he might be hurt bad cause he will get hit eventually against maidana.
