Floyd has been heralded as one of the greatest boxers of our generation, if not, of all time. The man takes pride in keeping his "0" intact. But during the amateurs, he compiled 6 losses. Obviously, the match that gave floyd his bronze medal was a farce, with floyd CLEARLY deserving the victory. But were those 5 other losses legit...???
And he should have an L on his chest from Castillo in the pros. That 0 ain't ****.
Maybe yes, but floyd still give an immediate rematch to Castillo which was a really noble thing to do, something that haters like you always forget to mention. He beat him fair and square in the second fight so loss or no FLoyd still has beat every fighters he has fought in the pros
I remember Augie Sanchez put a lot of pressure on Floyd while Floyd was moving a lot.
In the pro's guys who pressure him have given him the toughest challenge.
Floyd uses the ref now a days to help him out.
No retard. Referee have nothing to do with the fact that fighters cant land sh1t on FLoyd.
Floyd use 12 rounds nowadays to adjust to his opponent and win the last 8 rounds of all his fights. In the amateurs people can rush and bully you for three rounds and hope to get the decision (many times bullsh1t decision like in the olympics), the technical fighter missing time to adjust to the other fighter.

Amateur records don't translate to pros perfectly. Hell, my old coach had a better amateur record (although he only won Commonwealth gold never fought in the olympics) of 90 and 4. Was he better than Floyd? Not even within a billion light years he was a fringe titlist for a few fights. As someone has already said, 3 rounds does not give Floyd thinking time.
Has anyone seen these losses not the Olympic one but the others? I'm curious to know what they did even tho it's only the ams Floyd was still very skilled for amateur and it'd be interesting to see how they solved his style even if he was only a kid.

If professional boxing was three 3 minutes round, zab judah and david lemieux would be the top 1 and top 2 fighter in the world... mike tyson being the goat
Amateurs doesn't translate into the professionals, especially in Floyd's case. Three two-minute rounds doesn't give Mayweather the time to figure out his opponent and dismantle him like we see him do these days. When you give a guy six minutes to sprint at Mayweather, based on a point system, of course it's highly possible that Mayweather would lose. Even today's Mayweather might lose in a situation like that - because it's completely different from a professional bout.
But... What am i seeing... somebody who understands the sport on boxingscene ??! props dude
