It seems to me he always just attaches himself to a popular MEXICAN on a MEXICAN holiday
Arum himself said blacks, asians and whites don't by PPV, it's all about the MEXICAN's
I really doubt there are Mexican families sitting around saying "I can't wait to watch that negro again!"
They're obviously buying to watch their brothers

If Mayweather isn't really a PPV Draw, please explain which one of his opponent was the real draw and post facts on how they were able to do better without Mayweather.
Blow me, bytch.

If opponent selection doesn't play a vital role In the success of Mayweathers PPV events, then why did Showtime reportedly lose millions of dollars on the Guerrero fight and why doesn't all of his PPV'S generate Alvarez type numbers. There Is no doubt that Mayweather Is a draw, but opponent selection Is critical, that's why It was a slap In the face for him to offer Pacquiao a flat fee of 40 million dollars with no PPV revenue. Mayweather would do 700,000-1million buys against your average type fighters, such as Guerrero but would most likely do 2-2.5 million buys against a fighter the calibre of Manny Pacquiao. So yes, again, Mayweather Is a draw, but needs a quality name on the bill also, just as any other top name big PPV star.
Showtime is "supposedly" losing money because of the massive deal that they gave to Mayweather. That's the only reason. In any other circumstance a 700k fight is a very good PPV number. Some people are clearly spoiled into thinking that selling 1 million + PPVs is a common occurrence, when it really isn't.
I'm also not sure why good opponent selection seems to be an epiphany on these forums. Why the hell would Mayweather, or any other PRIZE fighter for that matter, not want to pick the opponent that maximizes his earning potential? Its simple business. Not speak to you specifically when I say that, but people in general that keep pointing to Mayweather opponents.
Opponent selection for a big PPV is important for EVERY fighter, not just Floyd.
The question you have to ask is, can Manny Pacquiao do those numbers without Floyd?
No, he can't. He hasn't ever, and now he won't ever because his career is in a deep decline.
Can Floyd do it without Manny Pacquiao? Yes, he's done it twice.
$40M is a slap in the face? How much do you think Floyd is giving up on what he usually makes in a "mega-fight" to fight Manny Pacquiao, so that Mr. Manny Pacquiao can have $40M?
Never in the history of ever have I heard someone say $40M is a slap in the face.
These retards think that because a fight generates $250M-$300M in revenue, that the fighters are splitting $300M between themselves. At most they're splitting a little over $100M.
But $40M is a slap in the face!!!
that sig is hilarious good one

And another one that doesn't comprehend what they read.
So opponent selection only applies to floyd or does it apply to all fighters? My guess is it applies to all ppv fighters.
All fighters who are big draws had their numbers fluctuate depending on the quality of opponent just as floyd does.
Do you Intentionally try to provoke arguement? Where In my post did I say opponent selection only applies to Floyd? As a matter of fact I said the exact opposite. Reading before replying Is highly recommended.

8. Victor Ortiz 1.25 million
9. Miguel Cotto 1.5 million

the difference between gbp and tr is that gbp stacks up their fight cards more....
tr is more on riding on the main event principals drawing power....

the fact is, maximum pull by floyd the fraud on all of his ppv events, i'd say no less/more than 25% buys with the bigger chunk being pulled by his opponents.
Who is a bigger draw than Mayweather?
He needs good dance partners. And Floyd fight parties are the worst! By the time it's the 6th rd nobody is really into the fight anymore. We watch but we start talking bout a bunch of other stuff. He's not going to knock anyone out and watch we saw in the first half Is what we will see in the second half.
Who doesn't?
Every big draw needs a dance parter to do big PPV numbers.
The only time I can think of a big PPV with an unknonw(Relatively) opponent is Tyson-McNeeley and that was more to do with the fact it was Tyson's return.
That's Oscar de la Hoya mate, how old are you? 12?
Floyd's a draw, no doubt but he only draws BIG when fighting other legit names, Mosley, Cotto, Hatton and Canelo. Compare that to his buys when fighting guys like Guerrero and theres in some cases, a 400k difference.
Same can be said for Oscar though, no?
Brian Kenny: "You think Marquez is a bigger draw than Shane Mosley?"
Floyd Mayweather Jr. : "He (Marquez) has a country behind him, a country, a country! And we know Mexican and black fighters have been dominating for years and you always get your biggest fights when you match the two together, and you know that."
I understand where everyone is coming from but understand that people paying to watch him lose still equals him being the draw but yeah alot of us mexican(i never have) order his ppv's for that reason and that reason only
