Man, I've been a longtime fan of the man they call "Money". But last night, I was treated to another snoozefest.
Everytime Money and his team promise KO's and ass-whoopins. I saw neither last night, not even close. Although I thought he won decisively.
There was a period in the fight where he pretty much had Carrot Top figured out and all he could unleash were two punch combos for the most part.
I'm done with Tony Gwynn, give me some Barry Bonds.
Yea i remember watching Pacquiao Marquez 4 at a bar in the crowd was going crazy. Once that KO hit everybody was like "what a f***** fight!"
The Mayweather fight or fights the crowd is hyped before the bell but after they tend to chatter more, die out then look for shots n beer.
People shouldknow by now thats Mayweathers stylemuch likeRigo, they aint going for the kill, they going for the win
And thats also Pacs downfall going for the kill, roll the dice
you almost ALWAYS get your moneys worth with pac fights...he takes chances and goes for the KOs and that deserves respect...Great point. I think alot of the PBF cojone huggers are missing the boat when the PBF critics scrutinize his fights.
When I say PBF is boring, I'm not asking for PBF to get his head bashed, get bloodied or get into a brawl. There's a difference between displaying the sweet science and simply just trying to play it safe, it's two different things.
Here's an analogy, there's a difference between showing great wrestling, compared to lay n' pray.
What's wrong with trying to finish a guy when you clearly have him under control, of course there's always a threat. But, if there's no risk, there's no excitement. PBF is the one who loves to call boxing, sports entertainment.
Then entertain us, don't bore us!
Pacquaio needs to get himself back into position before even being discussed.
If there is one thing Mayweather does, it's fight a guy when they're coming off good wins.On paper, that is true. But, c'mon, just look at who these "world champions" are, Victor Ortiz, Canelo Alvarez, Robert Guerrero(lmao) in about 5 years time, maybe even sooner than that, the hardcore fans won't even remember who these guys are.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. How long have you guys been saying that? Who cares? Im a still watch Floyd, Pac, Rios, RGuerrero ect. Im a fan with no emotional tie (ladylike btw) to any boxer. So I'm a still enjoy all different styles of fighting.
I think Schaefer will have a hard time selling Floyd's next fight. He'll definitely have to spend gargantuan amounts of money to convince casuals. Who would want to see another sure win for Floyd vs CW underdog via boring decision?
You are watching Cy Young not Babe Ruth. How in the world have people not realized this yet? what f'n idiot tunes into to see Floyd fighting expecting to see a war?
You don't get it nor do some of the Floyd fans. Using your example, it's like Cy Young pitching against guys who just came up to the pros or are ready to retire or can't handle Cy Young's pitches. We know the conclusion to most of those battles so they in turn become a snooze fest.
Now if we had a battle of Cy Young and let's say Barry Bonds or Ted Williams then we will NOT know the outcome and it becomes much more interesting and exciting .....
As for boxing examples, there are plenty of them.
That is exactly the reason why the sport is dying, this is the sweet science not MMA its a shame thats all ppl look for is head bashing and war with 2 ppl inside the ring ask all the old boxers who can barley talk because of all the wars is that what boxing is about. I admit I was a Floyd hater until last night even tho I lost $ I realized that the reason Floyd is 36 and still on the top of boxing is because these guys can't box, instead of learning their craft they think because they have power all they need is 1 punch, look @ the machine matthesey when that right hand couldn't hurt Danny he was done, these guys build up their career doing 1 thing then challenge mayweather then he takes them to school and ppl r disappointed he maybe 1 of just a few that understands what boxing actually is
Credit when credits due
Floyd won that and he made it look easy, Im not a big floyd fan, but he outskilled canelo and the speed was too much
Not that I thought canelo was the guy to take his 0
I still think and have for last 4 years Pacquiao is the only guy who would give mayweather a run for his money....and I dont see that fight happening
Maybe mayweather views it as too risky
Yesterday it was Canelo who made the fight boring to me. He absolutely did nothing in the fight. Mayweather outclassed him bad so you can't really blame him this time for the fight being ****. Canelo was already tired after 6 rounds or so, so it wasn't going to be an exciting fight.

Worthless response, everyone KNOWS Pacquaio is committed to action, excitement and giving the fans what they pay for. Log off.
Yeah but Pacquiao has only fought one good fight since his run of Hatton, Cotto, Clottey. And that was Bradley.
Marquez last December was only a big fight because of the debacle he had against him in November 2011.
yet Mannys last ko was in 2009,you know around the last time he fought a current champion in his weight class

Pacquiao goes for the KO. Mayweather doesn't even try to hurt his opponents unless he's sucker punching them or elbowing them.
Agreed, it's the reason Pacquaio was the champion of the decade and the peoples champion. Mayweather just lies to his fans constantly, promising action so they pay up, Pacquaio wants to keep the fans happy, Mayweather wants to keep the fans money.

I thought it was entertaining watching Floyd tattoo Canelo with shots all night, but hey.
I still say this fight 100% happens at the end of Floyd's contract and when Manny is free after his final fight in Spring 2015 with Arum.
