Nice article over at boxingnew24.
This part was spot on:
Garcia’s nose will break, his eyes will cut, and he’ll be hit with too many concussive shots to the head. That’s why Garcia has to go all out from the 1st round, and look to take Matthysse out quickly before he’s had a chance to warm up.

Good post, I agree with most of it.
I dont think Danny's a better boxer by any means though. Khan I believe was a good example of how he's willing to take a beating for several rounds trying to time his opponent. I'm not sure Danny would have lasted 2 or 3 more rounds with Khan doing what he did. His resistance and chin has been tested by Judah, and Zab was beating him in the last 3 rounds. The same man, a few years younger, was getting slaughtered in the final rounds against Matthysse. Sure, traingles theories and such but still.
Cant remember seeing Garcia fight backward, is there a fight where he actually fought walking backwards?
Garcia pushed forward with Khan because it was Khan. We all know that Khan's weakness is his chin, plus he was making the mistake of throwing too many combos and staying in the pocket.
Garcia took advantage of that and landed his big left hook. Against Judah it was a different story. Don't think Judah is some bum either, he's a skilled veteran, ex world champ that knows what he's doing in there. He can survive when hurt and is a tricky boxer.
Garcia is a better boxer than Mathysse in his fundamentals. Mathysse tends to loop shots, wing big power punches and Garcia can take advantage of that. Mathysse has improved but again, if Garcia is smart, he can do some things that can neutralize Mathysse's power.
Too many times, boxing fans and internet trainers, think they have the perfect strategy when it comes to a fighter or specific fight.
When in reality, boxing is about adapting throughout the fight. Danny Garcia is no chump, and I'm surprised at the level of disrespect he's getting as a fighter. He could very well catch Mathysse with a big shot and end the fight, he has the power to do so.
Now stylistically, I would say that this fight favors Mathysse because Danny is prone to stand and brawl when he's hit, and he will be hit. He could also jump on Mathysse and hurt him early, who the fuk knows.
If I was Danny's trainer, I would not advise getting into a brawl early in the fight. I do think Danny is the better boxer, so I would use that as much as I could to box Mathysse.
One thing I can say about the maturation of Mathysse is that he's become more intelligent in his pressure style. He's catching and countering much better and doesn't get hit flush when coming forward. You can see it's something they have worked with him and it's paying off.
If I was to bet on this fight, I would bet that Mathysse beats Garcia, but it's not a guarantee. Garcia needs to be very smart, not get into a brawl with Mathysse and choose when and how to trade with him. He's got an excellent jab and left hook, and can fight going backwards but he chooses to go forward because he has that instinct.

That would be a good example if it was true.
It didnt take Danny half a round.
It took Danny 3 rounds to find Khan.
Khan landed on him at will for 3 rounds.
Up until then he was giving Danny a beating.
Had Matthysse landed on him as much, he would have killed Danny, literally speaking.
Last I checked it's a fight and fighters are gonna land punches. LM is Mayorga with a little bit more control. That's about it.
How about it took Garcia about half a round to start timing Khan who is like 3times faster than Lucas. You are talking absolute ****e. This almost reminds me of Frazier-Foreman.

Can't wait for Garcia to hit Lucas like Judah did and just watch him smirk.
Overrated ass power lol. Right behind Canelo's or even in front of it.

He's in over his head in this one, i've never been more certain of a result than a bloody brutal beating for Garcia in this fight.
But you have to admire the kid for getting in the ring with him, I hate when people say he's scared when he showed up to the fight (pederson), signed the contract, and is talking ****. Danny thinks he's gonna win and I can't wait for this scrap.
I'm from Philly", Garcias'one of 'em strong boyz, hezstrong!" orthe more pathetic "Because Garcia is pretty"
^^^^ I've seen most of his supporters use one of these to show why they are backing him. Pretty pathetic stuff.
LOL at those thinking Matthysse is unbeatable. This dude can be beat. Both fighters will have their chances. Dannys the more sound boxer. He turns over on his punches the way a boxer should. He can counter punch with power in both hands. Hes bigger and stronger than Matthysse. But with all those advantages Matthysse still has a shot to win. It's not a push over for either fighter.

Threads end up in name calling and other BS, but when you look at it for a minute and see theboxing involved here, really, how could Danny win?
Maybe he had a chance against the Matthysse that fought Judah/Alexander, even if I think he won those fights and Danny isnt nearly as "Swift"as those two. If Lucas had fought Danny instead of Judah or Alexander, with his slugging come forward one and only style, he would have been KOed.
But there's no time travel here and the Lucas we've seen in the last 6 fights is a different creature. Starts starts faster, is even more agressive, accurate and confident.
The Danny Garcia of the last few fights just doesnt impress. He nearly got KO trying to time Khan for his left hook. Judah gave him hell for the last 3 rounds, came close to finishing him in my opinion.
I get the nut hugging to a point, even if I find Danny adn his father disgusting as people. Angel for the racist pig he is, Danny for being even more of a coward, a grown man with a **** eating grin while his old man uts words out there in his name.
But lets focus on boxing. Danny murders, humiliates, kills and KO Matthysse? Ok man, that's fine.
Now explain how. You see, that's where "I'm from Philly", Garcias'one of 'em strong boyz, hezstrong!" orthe more pathetic "Because Garcia is pretty"
Boxing people, what can Garcia do, something he's proven to be capable of in the past, no wishful thinking, what can he do to stop the machine that will go out there to find his range, start chipping away and timing him throwing pineapple after pineapple in a symphony of methodic destruction?
