i think is the other way around, if provo can't hurt lucas and finish him early, he will get in a world of trouble, he has shown poor stamina before, whereas lucas the opposite, as the fight goes on he keeps growing
Lucas hits hard, but he isn't a big mover like Algieri. Sometimes he lingers on the outside too much. Prov is going to be constantly moving his hands. If Lucas doesn't get him out of there early, I see Prov overwhelming him with volume punching.
in another thread you said the same but you use the zab judah fight as a reference
Did I? I didn't even know. Damn, he must get his ass beat a lot? I don't pay much attention to journeymen though...
If Lucas doesn't get Prov out of there early, I see Prov steamrolling him.

I'm 100% sure Provodnikov beats his ass just like Danny Garcia did. Just beat the living **** out of him and make him take another knee and now before his God. Just like Garcia did.

But Provo's defense is to stop punches with his face, which isnt a good idea against Lucas. Not a bad fight but I'd rather have Matthysse fight Broner. Broner has more to lose, that would be a nice fight.
I think Matthysse might've landed the Broner fight instead of Molina Jr on the opening of the PBC Haymon show.
It's a shame we'll never see it, just hope Matthysse gets out of the Provo fight with his health intact.
Whoever wins this fight will probably fight Herrera to become the man in the division especially if Garcia moves up (arguably already has).
Wow, I forgot I even made this thread.
Lucas is not a mover. That is why Ruslan wins. I think Ruslan said I like to fight fighters like Brandon Rios because they don't move much.

Matthysse has the far better footwork, he just needs to use it.
If he had someone like Robert Garcia as his coach I'd be confident of him using his movement well, but with his current coach he's probably more likely to stay in the pocket and that gives Ruslan a chance.
Ruslan is a poor finisher though but then again he's trying to finish against guys who run away from him, Matthysse won't do that, he'll go to war. Great fight, someone's soul has got to go.
watch that ajose fight i just posted, i think in the 8th round and 9th round you'll see what i'm talking about, lucas just stops throwing while letting ajose throw combinations, so annoying to watch him do that
a good trainer for him would be abel sanchez i think
been thinking about this fight non-stop since the steve kim tweet
honestly I think the biggest determining factor in who wins this fight, is which guy is not going to wait for his opponent to stop throwing before punching and unfortunately Matthysse seems to freeze while his opponent is throwing whereas Ruslan just DGAF
I'm starting to lean towards Ruslan
