I still have Pacquiao winning all three bouts, albeit closely. Heres the bottom line:
Pacquiao-Marquez 1-
I had it 115-110, 7 rounds to 5 for Pacquiao. Harold Lederman had the same score. The official judges had it: John Stewart 115-110 PAC | judge: Burt A. Clements 113-113 | judge: Guy Jutras 110-115 MARQ
Incidentally, Burt A. Clements scored the first round 10-7 instead of 10-6. If he scored the round correctly it would have been a Pac victory.
Pacquiao-Marquez 2-
I had it 115-112, 7 rounds to 5 for Pacquaio. Harold Lederman had the same score. The official judges had it: Duane Ford 115-112 PAC | judge: Jerry Roth 112-115 MARQ | judge: Tom Miller 114-113 PAC
Pacquiao-Marquez 3-
I had it 115-113, 7 rounds to 5 for Pacquaio. Harold Lederman had it 116-112 for PAC. The official judges had it: Dave Moretti 115-113 PAC | judge: Robert Hoyle 114-114 | judge: Glenn Trowbridge 116-112 PAC
The bottom line is Marquez relies too heavily on his counterpuncher style AND his trainer telling him hes winning the fight going into the championship rounds and IS NOT aggressive enough throughout the fight and especially down the stretch. Couple that with the fact that, as Harold Lederman stated, judges FAVOR the affective aggressor when it comes to determining who wins close rounds, and as I see it Marquez will come up with a L every time, BOTTOM LINE.
1st fight I remember thinking a draw was acceptable given the way marquez came back, though I have a feeling I had pac winning it by a point or so.
2nd fight I reckon was a close win for pac so again correct decision
3rd fight **** decision - it was a clear win for marquez.
the first two i thought pacquiao won by a couple of rounds, marquez usually takes the middle rounds big(e.g one of the fights he cuts pacquiao with a punch and batters the sht outta him, think it was the 6th in one of the fights) but if i remember right i had it like lederman too, but he was suspect in the 11th and 12th of the second fight if i remember right, whatever he had for the 11th and 12th i had it the other way around and was wondering wtf this guy was doin, but i guess he like the commentators said was trying to make up for wrongly not giving a round to marquez or somethin along those lines
as for the 3rd fight, it's honestly really tough to score and how can you blame anyone for having it either way
it's just when you have the marquez fans saying he got robbed in the second and first obviously they lose their sht in an actual toss up like the third
I watched all 3 fights at least twice and here is my result:
Pacquiao without a doubt won the first 2, although the 2nd was a little bit closer.
The 3rd one I clearly scored for Marquez though
Attempting to justify the 3rd result because the 'judges agreed' is nonsense. I remember after that fight there was a thread showing various opinions from pundits and professionals on the result and more than 90% of them believed Marquez won the fight as did most of the public. The point is though this is all subjective there and there really is no bottom line.
I personally believe Marquez schooled Pacquiao at times in their 3rd fight and thats not taking anything away from Pacquiao. Marquez is a grand master in the art of counter punching and his style completely counters Pacquiao.
And for the record I had Pacquiao comfortably beating Bradley. Scoring is subjective but in my opinion the best way to gauge who really won is by asking the fans. In both of these occasions the losers were favoured by quite a margin.
Very respectable scores in my opinion,
i also had pacquiao winning all 3
i had them
114-111
115-112
115-113
the first 2, i just can't see how marquez possibly won them. the third fight could be a draw if you give every close round to marquez, but i thought pacquiao managed to pull away at the end.
We can beat this topic to death, as we already have, but with that said your scores are pretty terrible imo.
1. Draw. Aside from the first round, the rest of the fight marquez outfought pacquiao imo. But because of the first round....
2. Pac by 1, the knockdown proving the difference.
3. Marquez by 1-3, cant really remember how i scored it, i just know i scored it for Marquez.
Now, most importantly remember, whatever you say is wrong, and whatever i say is right ;)
That's essentially how I see things.

Actually, I had the EXACT same scores as his, he broke the fights down too pretty accurately, but for the scores, I had the same
I invite you, and anyone else to first rewatch the trilogy so that it is fresh in your memory before disagreeing with me and stating your own scores, unless you have them written down. But mind you ive watched this trilogy EASILY 5 or 6 times (yea Im a boxing junkie). And my scores cant be that bad if Harold Lederman and a judge from each of the fights had the same thing.
Easy buddy, Ive been on this forum for years. Its just that ALOT of the posters on here are waaay too biased and post nonsense as Im sure youll agree, so I always chose not to speak to fools since they scorn the wisdom of my words, as the great rapper NaS once said. But lately, Ive been selectively trying to spread a lil wisdom on here myself.
Hey man what the heck? You don't have 15k + posts around here you get bashed boy! Welcome to cyber-hazing! Lol.
Jokes aside, a draw was fair in the first fight. Pacquiao let that one slip even though he had 'La Tecnica' down three times. Second fight I gave to Marquez. As for the third, and I quote Borat: "It was a-tight like a man's anu$"
I respectfully disagree with you both. But all in all, the fact that Harold Lederman a 3 official judges had the same scores as I do shows I know what Im doing. FYI I also judge amateur bout in New England so I do know how to score a fight. But whether we agree or not, I do feel Marquez needs to be more aggressive against Pacquaio if he wants to win. Being too much of a counterpuncher has historically not bode well for fighters in the eyes of the official judges. Manny is aggressive, and whether he actually lands or not he ALWAYS gets the benefit of the doubt. Bottom line.
You and I both know scoring amateur fights and scoring pro bouts are apples and oranges, I'm a licensed amateur coach, doesn't mean I can out train Roach, Nacho, or Nazim or even be close to their level..
and as far the "Aggressor having the benefit of the doubt" is concerned is complete BS, the difference is you get replays, slow motions, and less pressure from being there live..so if you still want to play that "when in doubt" card, you can always go back and be for sure, instead of using that generic rule of thumb..
With that said..Pacquiao won the the first two bouts and Marquez took the 3rd 7-5..

People who believe manny won the third fight might as well as give their eyes to the blind
I had Marquez winning but he seriously fked it away in the last rounds when Nacho told him he was winning. In close fights like that you can't afford to be relaxed and stop being aggressive.
Horrible scores.

I bet you do... you have 8 post

Good post. I agree with this. I havent scored the first fight but I also think Pac won the 2 and the 3 fight.. I know people may see it differently.
Close fights, but IMO Pac won them all..
