What excuses are legit and illegit for losing a fight ?

a broken hand DURING the fight isn't a legit excuse. it's part of the game, it just sucks that it happened.

I wouldn't call a (legit) robbery an excuse fyi. Anywho, legit: 1. A freak performance busting injury during the fight (only medical proof acceptable). Ex; a torn rotator that turns a guy into a one armed man, a leg injury seriously hampering movement, etc. 2. Impaired vision not caused by a punch, not due to the fighter's own wrecklessness. 3. Taking a fight on very short notice against an elite fighter (they wouldn't have got the fight/$ otherwise).

A broken hand during the fight means you couldn't out last your opponent. A clash of heads resulting in a cut dripping in your vision makes a good case. If a fighter is not 100% going into the fight mentally or physically he shouldn't be fighting The only time Ive seen that the Ref helped a fighter in trouble was in Coggi/Gonzalez fight. Even the time keeper was in it

I don't think it would. I believe the doctors said he was ok to fight and that was like years later when he fought Pacquiao lol. The story leaked prior to the fight but the surgery happend years prior. The reason they said Barrera was so poor in that was because he didnt train due to forrest fires ( and he was up against a guy who went on to become great ) I still think that fight is Pacs best win to this day. Maybe there was some truth in the big bear fires because Marco came to the ring fleshy and didnt fight well at all. When he was older and pretty washed up he cruised through 12 rounds with the "new and improved" Pac.

Ward fought Froch with a broken hand, look how that turned out Irrelevant. There's countless examples of guys winning a fight with a broken hand. We're talking about losing. If a fighter is clearly down on the cards he could use the broken hand to possibly turn the fight but he would be risking further damage and considerably shortening his career.

How about getting a metal plate inserted into your skull just before signing for a fight??? actually happened to barrera. Also sometimes a broken hand can be pretty legit. Didn't Barrera win though?

There's only 2 I can think of. 1: If it's an obvious robbery (Casamayor-Santa Cruz, Williams-Lara) and 2: If the other fighter is caught cheating (The obvious one is Resto-Collins Jr.)

Broken hand during the fight seems pretty legit to me. Getting stopped on cuts while winning is not really a legit excuse. It's more of a "the fight result gave no indication about which fighter is better" situation IMO.
