I've said this in a similar thread, there are a lot of people who aren't boxing fans because of the brutality involved. Showing those people Castillo-Corrales, Hagler-Hearns, Ali-Frazier 3, etc., would most likely not make them boxing fans. It would just reaffirm their belief that the sport is too violent and brutal.
I was made a boxing fan by one sided Roy Jones fights, and many love to watch great examples of skill where one fighter dazzles. Show them Jones-Toney, Mayweather-Corrales, Pacquiao-Barrera, fights where one fighter's talents show and impress, you'll get as many fans as the brutal ATG slugfests, IMO.
^^^True. You have a very good point. I'm sure if I'd show the fights I mentioned to my wife she'd go, "See? This is exactly why I don't like boxing."
Fights where technique is very apparent or where defense, flashiness, or supreme offense is employed substantially would be fights with Mayweather, Ali, Roy, Naseem, Augustus, etc.
Real deal holyfield vs Brian nielsen:439:
Seriously Ali-frazier 1 is my all time favorite fight , it was the perfect stylistic clash of styles and drama , if you put a person in the right mine frame in reagards to the magniture of the fight it will turn many into the world of boxing , just like the fight did back then.
That fight made my dad start boxing

benn vs mcclellan-obviously a tragedy what happened to mcclellan but the fight had me transfixed.castillio/corrales 1,barrera/morrales,gatti/ward were all unbelivable and any of them would do the trick.the 1st pavlik/taylor fight deserves a mention too.
Gatti-Ward 1, seriously 10 rds of war with 15 rds worth of action. Hagler-Hearns was a classic but ended too quickly. Morales-Barrera 1 is another great one.
Mannn.... why'd you have to say only one... while I still maintain my choice of Hagler/Hearns... I love the Gatti/Ward trilogy... one of the best out there.
I once made a thread about three fights to convert a boxing fight...one back and forth fight that ends in a decision, one back and forth that ends in a knockout, and one that with a dramatic comeback.
Competitive decision- Gatti/Ward I
Competitive knockout- Trinidad/Vargas
Dramatic Comeback- Castillo/Corrales I
All action fights, all competitive, all absolutely thrilling...
You could also put Marquez/Vasquez III up there if you wanted.
Personally, if I had to pick just ONE fight...I think I'd always go for Gatti-Ward I. That fight is just ridiculous statistically-speaking. When you see the punch stats in between rounds with both fighters' connect percentage between 55-65%...you're thinking, "Jesus...this could end at ANY moment."
a couple of variables I was thinking of when making the thread was level of boxing and animosity.
Gatti-ward was a classic but really a slugfest and a battle of attrition more than anything.
Vasquez-marquez or pac-marquez were contested at a very high level with the added bonus of 2guys that really hate each other.
Which is why im surprised noone had mentioned ali-frazier yet.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It's got hard punching, little cheap tactics, knockdowns, and a Disney movie ending.
Except the spitting out of the mouth piece
But id pick Trinidad-Vargas, Bowe-Holyfield I, JCC-Taylor I and #1 Morales-Barrera I
