Yes it's a fact. Since his fight with David Diaz in June of 2008, Manny Pacquiao has not faced 1 opponent with coming off of a big win or with at least a 3 fight winning streak for that matter.
Here's the FACTS:
- Oscar De La Hoya: 1 fight winning streak vs. Steve Forbes after having been beat by Floyd Mayweather.
- Ricky Hatton: 2 fight winning streak after having been KO'd in 11 by Floyd.
- Miguel Cotto: 2 fight winning streak after having been brutally stopped by Margarito.
- Joshua Clottey: "0" fight win streak. Lost his previous fight by decision to Miguel Cotto.
- Antonio Margarito: 1 win streak vs. Roberto Garcia in Mexico in which he looked horrible. Previous to that he had been stopped by Shane Mosley 9 rounds.
- Shane Mosley: "0" fight win streak. Coming of a draw with Sergio Mora, and an 11 round to 1 beat down by Floyd Mayweather.
In his last 3 fights the "media's" P4P champ has fought Clottey coming off a LOSS, Margarito with a 1 fight winning streak, and Shane Mosley coming off a DRAW. Thats 1-1-1.
How is this justifiable for any boxer what so ever to even be considered among the p4p discussions?
BS Mr han man. Wasnt Cotto a younger guy than Pac as was hatton? How come if Pac beats fighters who have a loss, they are washed up, but Floyd can beat guys with up to 10 losses and people dont bring it up like vomit? Pac himself has lost, so did Pac all of a sudden become washed up? Why dont Cotto get discredited for fighting Morales leftovers in Pac? Not all boxers are unbeaten you know!
Thats too logical for the fan boys to understand.
9 out of 10 once again at its finest
that one win streak tho was a career defining win tho plus he was only 24 not 30+ like the other guys. its all about if they were on the upside/downside of their careers
just admit it bro Cotto was past his best going in the fight and so was Margarito and Mosley and we all knew it before they got in the ring against Manny
so you're saying the ortiz win is a better win than the cotto win?
I guess...........
All I know is that my boy Martinez's last 6 opponent's combined records were:
232-10-2........his last 3 opponents were: 66-1-0 coming into the fights with Sergio........why isn't he ranked number 1 P4P again?
Much love and respect to Martinez. The guy is a beast in the ring and great for the sport outside of the ring. But I think Martinez' team/promoters are going in the wrong direction willing to drain their fighter for a payday vs MAyweather or Pacquiao. If Martinez wants to climb the p4p list he should move up in weight like hes asking Manny and Floyd to do and start fighting the best @ 168.
Mosley was the welterweight champ and #1 ranked welterweight in the world.
Exaclty. Mosley was considered the #1 WW in the world at the time because of his complete dismantling of Antonio Margarito, who up until that point looked like the man to beat @ 147.
what you fail to mention is every 1 of those guys is much bigger than pac.
hatton had just beat malignaggi in a fight that was 50/50 according to the stans on here and looked much better than he normally does.
clottey come of a close loss to cotto. cotto got a pass in the last two rounds in that fight and it still could of gone either way.
oh yeah, he mullered cotto. (which in my opinion is better than any welterweight win mayweather has)
margarito fight wasnt a great fight but still, he was fighting a guy nearly 4 inches taller and 17lbs heavier.
mosley fight was a joke.
all this leads team mayweather to believe pac is on performance enhancing drugs. lol. so yall think he has fought bums, but mayweather thinks he must have been on drugs to beat these guys. lol.
mayweather just fought maidanas left overs.
now thats facts pal.
Facts mean absolutely nothing to Paq haters. If Carl Froch or Andre Ward started calling out Paq at 168, and he requested a limit of 164, and walked in the ring on fight night at 148, all the Paq haters and Floyd lovers would say Paq had an unfair advantage.
juan guzman
sergio martinez
paul williams
andre berto
amir khan
de la hoya at 152
marg at 152
Juan Guzman - not as big a challenge as any of the fighters Paq did fight
Sergio Martinez - Only recently did he say he would come to Paq's weight class, actually he didnt. He still wants Paq to move up, and Floyd still wont fight him.
Paul Williams - Lost to Margarito, would probably have lost to Cotto or Mosley, and Floyd still wont fight him.
Andre Berto - Would lose to any of Paq's last three opponents, and Floyd still wont fight him.
Amir Khan - Not on Paq's level until very recently, if at all, and trained by the same trainer. How would that work out dip****? Oh yeah, Floyd will not fight Khan either.
De la Hoya - The only reason DLH vs Paq took place at 147 is because DLH and Floyd had already agreed to a rematch at 147, then Floyd decided not to fight DLH again and Paq stepped into the fight.
Marg - Your mouth is open so wide it is interfering with your eyesight. Marg's first fight coming off his suspension was at 154, in that post fight interview Marg said he would be returning to 147 for his next fight, then the opportunity to fight for a JMW title came up because the Floyd formerly known as a fighter went on vacation instead of fighting Paq. Oh, one other thing, the Floyd formerly known as a fighter ducked Margarito for years.

Yes, those three fights have been the three fights since the Cotto fight, after which Paq and Roach clearly called out the Floyd formerly known as a fighter, whereupon Floyd mostly disappeared. Please tell me who, in your opinion, other than the Floyd formerly known as a fighter, should Paq have been fighting in that time frame. All three of Paq's last opponents were selected because the biggest challenge went on vacation.
Im not even hating on Manny. But numbers dont lie. The media can say what ever they want to say, but the numbers just dont change. 1-1-1 for a guy who's team and fans claim is the best p4p boxer on the planet and possibly one of the greatest of all times is just ridiculous. I dont get it.

Floyd's last 3 of 4 opponents, guess how many times they fought prior to meeting up with Floyd at WW?
Ortiz - 1 fight - prior to that fought at 140
Marquez - NEVER - prior to that fought at 135 ONLY TWICE
Hatton - 1 fight - actually he fought twice at 140 before going up to 147 to fight Floyd! Hatton was a career 140 fighter.
While yall fags in here scrutinizing the man down to the tee, Pac's out there feeding the starving population, building schools and medical facilities, flossing in his Ferrari, and banging hot chicks!
Mosley was the welterweight champ and #1 ranked welterweight in the world.
but that ranking was because of what happened 16 months earlier against a guy who was just caught cheating! 16 months is already a lot .... imagine when you reach ~39 years of age?
Just think about it, the younger Floyd never tried fighting the current #1 WW and his trainer said there was no way with that layoff that he would. So again, imagine old inactive Mosley having to fight Floyd?

so you mean the media should just based their p4p ranking on just the last three bouts the fighter's opponents had?....awesome...
BS Mr han man. Wasnt Cotto a younger guy than Pac as was hatton? Because they are washed up you idiot , dont you have eyes , dont you know when a fighter is passing his use by date ,,, Team Pac hunt names but only fight those names at the perfect time and then they CW them and have other things in place like huge rings to complete the rort .
Diaz is probably one of the worst WCs in history just a face first slugger .
ODH looked ordinary against a very small Forbes , then Oscar killed himself making 147 to the point his body system went haywire , he couldn't gain any weight after the weighin and needed !V fluids , how the fuk is this a great win , when the opponent is dead on his feet , even Roach said Oscar will be done after a couple of rounds .
Clottey inhouse and did not even try and he still messed Pacs face up . no CW but why would you need one when a guy is paid to lose , I believe this was a corrupt fight and Clottey went for a loooooong well paid holiday .
Margo , a cheat that cant get a license untill Bob gets him one , they duck the legit 154 WC saying he is too big then pluck Margo who got badly KOed just prior to being fed a nobody to get a win and then another CW , woeful .
Hatton KOed by Floyd came back looked terrible in comeback then fed Pauli who is a featherfist and then Pac .
Cotto beat to death by plaster fed a couple of nobodys and then Pac at CW , Roach said he is damaged goods and he was .
Pac ducked the Mosley that Floyd fought , then Mosley looked shot in his precious fight , so now Pac fights him , the irony is Pac ducked him at 144 which Mosley could never make but he still scared the sh!t out of Roach , then Floyd and then his terrible draw and now the CW dont matter Mosley is shot , still went the distance and frustrated Pac all the way even though he had no legs and couldnt pull any trigger .
Now JMM at another CW which is bullsh!t , how do you justify CWing Cotto Margo and then JMM .
Manny is a hype created fighter fighting very selectively and handicapping opponents in very slime ball ways , if he ever sets foot in the ring with Floyd you will see the Manny train be exposed .
I've been pointing this out all along. Pac's opponents are either KO'd before or coming off from an ugly fight. All of these after he moved to welterweight division which actually solidifies his legacy. The suspect here is the matchmaking genius bob arum. He actually makes Pacquiao fight this big-named opponents at the right timing.
The question here is why won't Pac fight younger guys? He could have got Alexander/Bradley prior to their January match. He could have got Juan Manuel Marquez right after their controversial 2nd fight. He could have got Andre Berto prior to his April loss.Pacquiao was really great indeed. At the Oscar de la Hoya fight. The Hatton fight. The Cotto fight. And then the pattern seems to appear that he only beats washed-up fighters. And so the Clottey fight. The Margarito fight. The Shane Mosley fight. And now the Marquez fight.
Alright, if the Tim Bradley fight would be made he will put some critics to rest. And so as Saul Alvarez. So as Vyacheslav Senchenko. And hell even if Mike Jones win a world title, he should fight him. Oh I forgot - Floyd Mayweather.
Numbers don't lie people. Don't be blinded. I am a Pacquiao fan myself but I don't think he deserves the credit that he is receiving now.
BS Mr han man. Wasnt Cotto a younger guy than Pac as was hatton? lmao exactly hahaa great post nonitard...who is barker?
Great post, Margarito and Clottey...top p4p all time, LMAO
Ortiz and 39 year old Mosley.....ATG.....
EXCELLENT POST..................by the way, how are these dudes that Nonito is mopping the floor with getting him into the top 5 p4p list?
Narvaez, Montiel, Sydorenko, Hernan Marquez they were all in the top 5 p4p right? GTFO....lol
http://www.gifsforum.com/images/gif/no%20no%20no/grand/Shaking_head.gif
because his opponents were not ranked in the P4P list
Oh, you're right.......I guess Clottey, Margarito, Ortiz, Mosley, DLH, Hatton, and Cotto were? Maybe Cotto was and possibly Mosley when Floyd fought him...but they weren't top 5. So why are they still ranked number's one and two for beating guys that aren't in the top 5 p4p again?
You tool
ortiz was coming off a 1 win streak as well after getting his ass whooped by maidana and surviving vs peterson for a draw
lets not forget shane the 18 month lay off mosley who went almost 2 years with no fights at all before fighting floyd
basically...
