He will have beaten Chad Dawson (former top 10 P4P fighter) and Bernard Hopkins (all-time great and hall of famer).
I think he deserves it. What about you?
Adding that to the fact that Pavlik lost to Hopkins, I'd say yes. It's definitely worse. :lol1:
Just go home, man! You got destroyed!
NO.
YOU GOT DESTROYED!!!!!!!!
(you really need to work on your internet debating skills, everyone knows saying "you got destroyed" in the largest and most obnoxious font wins)
Really, beating Rubio, kO'ing Espino, and losing a decision to the #3 PFP fighter in the world is definitely worse than beating Ornelas and Roy Jones Jr?

He's definitely done more than Pavlik, aka the main opponent that makes Martinez the so called fighter of the year.
DOUBLE OWNED. :owned: :owned:

Hopkins has done nothing the past 2 years since Pavlik.

Dawson and Hopkins are more skilled technical fighters than Pavlik and Williams. But Hopkins isn't ranked high. So it be hard to make a case for that. and wBesides the fashion Martinez won in. Pascal did not dominate Dawson, and would have to make up for that against Hopkins to even make an argument.

If not for Martinez.
I agree bro
if Dawson fought Williams he fould beat him...
If B-hop fought Pavlik he would......oh wait...
:arabia:
But Dawson and Williams are in completely different weight classes so you can't really make that comparison. Plus, beating Pavlik at 160 >>>>> Beating Pavlik at 175.
I appreciate you comment on the manner of victory, and also that he was the underdog in each fight, but I completely disagree with this quoted bit. I like Pavlik and Williams, but they are both quite limited boxers with major flaws in their game. I'm really not sure you can say that about Dawson and Hopkins.
I agree with you that they are limited in comparison, but as limited as he is Pavlik was the Lineal Champ at 160, and Williams was THE most dangerous opponent available. I guess there is an argument this with Pascal too. I just personally feel those wins are better than Pascal's and Pavlik and Williams are in if not close to the prime of there careers, as opposed to Hopkins. But you have a valid argument.
Pavlik & Williams >>>> Dawson & 45 year old B-Hop.

Why does he HAVE to get it? Pascal will have beaten the better fighters.
Im not disputing Pascal has had an impressive year. But Pavlik & Williams >>>> Dawson & 45 year old B-Hop. Plus the way Martinez beat Williams was truley unbelivable. AND Martinez was the underdog in both his fights and won in dominating fashion. Just my opinion, although if Pascal wins it will be a good year for him, Martinez has to get it.

He is surely in the discussion. I lean towards martinez or montiel but this win puts pascal right there........if he wins.
