Dude came out again took a tough rematch.
Trained hard and even fought his ass off and was catching Martinez and outside of using the jab as much as he shouldve he fought a good fight. Martinez just landed a sick punch/
Sucks. This was his big shot and he didnt see it coming. Hell I didnt even see that punch.
Whats worse is that people are on this board actually laughing at the guy. He came out didnt run liek a ***** and went out swinging. Then people on here are acting like he Paul Williams is shyt. Martinez doesnt even believe that.
Props to Martinez. Id love to see a third fight. But if Paul abandons that jab it will go the same way. He seen how easy he was landing on Martinez and fell in love with it.
It's damn if you do and damn if you don't.
If you're selective with your opponents then you get ripped day and nite like Mayweather.
If you're a guy that fights the hardest opponents almost everytime out then you're even more disrespected like Paul Williams.
F*ck people and their ignorant, biased @ss opinions.
They don't even respect the jobs that boxers do. All I hear is criticism for the most part.
That's why guys like Manny and May say "F*** everybody I'm doing me."
I guess I can't blame them. Just look at Paul Williams.

Agreed. Many people here do that to many boxers whom literally step up their game. I've always said Williams and Martinez were people that step it up...and regardless of contraversy, they were always moving foward.
LOL I sure don't he faught at his weight class and got KTFO LOL Fool was too big to fight at WW and JMW
No,
Paul is more like a JMW naturally. Fighting above the weight he is comfortable fighting was his untimely demise. He had himself stretched to the limit in the Martinez fight because he does not have enough power to harm a fighter like Martinez. Martinez.. that fighter has power and great technique. Been getting robbed for too long. Of both fights and fight fans' regard. Its probably due to his name.. Initially when I heard Martinez name I thought he would be some weak boy band mariachi Zorro type.
But I was wrong.. Sergio is one of the best things about boxing right now. Floyd should fight Sergio.. Prove that a man can TRULY disregard weight class by adjusting tactics as Paul Williams simply cannot do, bereft of defense... His only defense is his great heart... He may have maneuvered before the fight, as every fighter does, but when he stepped in the squared circle he was gonna win or go out trying. Williams has won my regard as a fight fan. I was skeptical of him for too long. Williams has something that boxing is gradually losing due to commercial concerns. Heart. Look! He had his eyes open, he was still trying! even after the thunderous intercepting fist of Martinez sent him to the crypt! Boxing is just so interesting right now.. I would rather watch a Floyd/Martinez fight than a Floyd/Pac fight at this point. Or Pac/Martinez..
If Pac can spark or somehow stop Martinez or even weather him and win the D.. I will be forever his fan... not that im not already, despite all the controversy. Floyd could also fight Martinez for a huge boost in ATG standings. Sergio's style reminds me of Marquez's, except Sergio is greatly more powerful than Marquez. Also Sergio has more vertical movement in his core. Both great counterpunchers.
But Sergio did the perfect thing, made the perfect choice, in this PW fight. He executed a knockout counter.
I would not count Sergio out against Floyd OR Pac.
PW?? I have respect for him. A fighter with heart. What a novelty. He will adjust.. I seriously think he needs to settle at JMW and take everyone out. Or.. He could make the bold choice, and fight Martinez in a tie breaker. Both have wins over the other. All Williams need do.. all I would beg beg beg him to do.. is change his style. Get another trainer, one who understands more than just unchecked aggression. When you are always "on" as PW is in his fighting style, it leaves little time for careful tactics in there. He must guard himself against the knockout punch.. A man should not get hit like that unless he has done something wrong. Goodness gracious!
I think a lot of people had been hyping Williams (including his own people) as the most avoided fighter, so there was a big reaction when he got Hattoned like that.
He's still a really good fighter. And he'll be back. As a fight fan, I love someone who puts it all on the line (like Williams) so I hope he comes back the same fighter and doesn't go all defensive like some do after a big KO.
Catch weight bitch through and through. I'm done with Williams. If he could bounce back, then he would fight a tune up at 154 and then a guy like at least Dzinziruk instead of moving down to 147 and fighting guys with the height of rug rats compared to him.
I dont think it was D completly though. Dude i KNOW THE FIRST FIGHT WAS A WAR BUT i WAS SHOCKED AT HOW MUCH pAUL WAS LANDING. I mean he was riping off combos flush on Martinez.
Dude got too careless. Way too careless.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Don't feel bad for Paul Williams he needed that to happean. He was never going to last as he was but situations such as this could spur positive change.
He needs to buckle down and learn how to fight tall really utilizing his advantages.
I agree dude needs to learn how to box instead of just fighting his way to victories.

I dont feel bad why.......... he is rich and I am not.
It was part of Williams gameplan to get knocked the fuk out.
It was also his plan to get thoroughly outboxed by Cintron every minute of every round because he planned on winning later.
:lol1:
I don't feel bad for him even though I always liked him as a fighter. He made some good money. I also don't think he will ever maintain a high level again as his punch resistance is gone from the abuse of ignoring defense and weight class yo-yo'ing.
The thing is though he has been showing signs of wear and tear for the past while, since the first Martinez fight. It happens to most aggressive fighters and they simply have shorter careers because of it. I really knew he was going down hill in the Cintron fight. Cintron kept buzzing him and Cintron is not a big puncher like many believe. I thought he still had one good one left in him with the Martinez rematch but i was wrong.
