Hi fight fans!
Since we recently saw how Manny handled Clottey's tight shell defense and dominated him. I'm curious to know your opinions on how Floyd would tackle Clottey.
I'm finding it hard to fathom how Floyd would land anywhere near the amount of punches Pac landed (even tho at a very low percentage) or even land much at all. Just picturing the two fighters styles, heavy defense, little offense, would this fight be snooze fest, even more so than the Marquez fight? :boxing:
Mayweather would pot shot and move, pot shot and move en route to a comfortable decision. We might be able to see more offense from Clottey because there wouldn't be as much coming at him but it would be a pretty dull fight. Mayweather wide UD.
Thats not what he asked, he basically said it never happened.
Gotcha.
Floyd has a very good jab to the body, where he gets low and uses his freakish reach to stay out of range of a counter. But he's not stopping anyone with it.
He has a very good left hook, but would risk getting countered if he committed it hard to the body. Just not his style.
has floyd ever stopped anyone with a bodyshot? answer me that question
Won his first fight with a Body shot.
Bruseles dropped from a body shot.
Stopped Sharmba Mitchell with a body shot.
:fing02:
Pac's first KD of cotto was because pac hit cotto to the body, which stunned cotto, then pac gottem with a quick shot up top. Pac's KO of hatton was set up with a brutal body shit about 15 secs. before that KO that made hatton think twice about keeping his hands up. :boxing:
What the ****?.......

floyd landing counters and shots to the body, sure anyone can call it sheer brilliance, he's so good his bodyshots are a work of art  you seriously think 5 lighthanded bodyshots (or should i say genius bodyshots) would even phase joshua clottey? that's the problem with most of you retards here, everything floyd does is a "brilliant" "masterful" "orgasmic display of talent".

Dunno.. I see floyd/clottey looking a lot like judah/clottey on several occasions.
Clottey was far less active than normal against manny. He said himself, he just wanted to prove roach wrong and not get Ko'd.. Dude forgot to fight, but remembered to cover up.
You can't honestly expect the same clottey who fought Manny to fight Floyd.. Cotto has heavy hands, and a completely different clottey fought cotto.
Floyd isnt a destructive body puncher, but i have seen plenty of fights where he does it in a multifaceted approach. And this is probably the first time ever ive heard anyone (like yourself) talk about mannys body punching like hes cotto (knocking cats out with it). This is new to me.

In Floyd vs Clottey, if floyd wants to connect, he's going to need to go nearer to Clottey as obviously straight hands would not be that effective. The hooks would be the key to land punches on clottey's shell defense thus bringing his body nearer to clottey so he could pile up points. Now if floyd slows down overnight then clottey would probably have a greater chance in connecting when floyd's body is nearer to his. The question is would floyd risk that? But if this happens I believe it could be another shutout in favor of floyd. I honestly don't know. Would it be a better fight? Who knows, pac and floyd has different styles, but the important thing is they get the job done.
lets nitpick various rounds on the judah fight and gatti fights where floyd did some bodyshots and lets call floyd as destructive bodypuncher
manny being a more effective body puncher than floyd is more believable since he's knocked out a lot of cats in the lower weights with it.
you retards seriously think floyd's 5 bodyshots a round would hurt or even phase clottey? the hell outta here

LOL yeah, I don't know about FLoyd's body punching being better than Pac's. Manny always brings something new to every fight and lastnight we saw Pac's fierce attack to the body and it was absolutely BRUTAL.
Manny can only attack the body from a midrange distance, floyd can do it inside, midrange or a long jab to the body. Floyd doesnt really have one special punch in his arsenal, he does a little bit of everything.
I wish Clottey the very best in his career. I do believe he has created the perfect technique for his defensive style a little more polishing is needed though. That is stepping on his opponents foot. He hasn't shown this style before correct me if I am wrong.
This would be a lopsided, boring 120-108 decision in favor of Mayweather, similar to the Baldomir fight. If Clottey shells up, the key to Floyd's victory would be body punching and footspeed, just like Pacquiao. Floyd is a better bodypuncher than Manny in my opinion, so he'd have a little more effect in that department. Clottey wouldn't be so afraid to take chances against a lighter punching Mayweather, but he'd fail miserably because of Floyd's defense, and get countered all night. That would be the key to his downfall.
If you think Clottey's compubox scores were horrible in the Pac fight, this would give you a heart attack...I wouldn't be surprised if he went several rounds without landing a punch at all.
I would give you green k if I could but i'm maxxed out still. This is a perfect analysis of this match up. Great post, not even the slightest bit of bias in this post. :fing02:
Clottey might score less than 108 though to be honest.
