I remember I was in Vegas for my godfather's wedding (former welterweight champ Milton McCrory) and I saw Winky in the mall. I yelled, "Winky you won that fight!"
what do you guys think about that fight with JT?
Winky won that fight. I don't know why he took off the 12th tough.
That's cool that McCory is you're Godfather. Heard he was a beast back in the 80's. The sad thing is I only seen his fights with Curry and McCallum. I'm a Curry fan
Yep, he is my Godfather.
Yeah man thats very true. I loved how the rounds went one for Taylor, one for Wright and on and on lol. Actually its a very underrated fight for entertainment.
Very underrated. It was so back and forth you literally didn't know which way the fight was going. Very interesting fight to watch.
Although I saw it as close, I thought Taylor deserved to get the nod, even though it felt Winky may have outworked him slightly.
Taylor seemed to have much more conviction on his punches. Maybe he just looked flashier. It has been ages since I watched it but I remember thinking he edged it out. Although a draw was fair.
I thought it was a good fight and it was as good as I've seen Jermain Taylor in his career as odd as that sounds. Even though I think Wright won I thought Taylor performed well...better than in both Hopkins fights.
Totally agree. It was definitely a very winnable fight for Jermain, he just didn't listen and didn't continue doing what was working.
It was a tale of two fights. When Wink got Taylor on the ropes, he dominated. When Taylor was circling and boxing in the center of the ring, he looked great.

I know what you mean but I thought if Jermain had showed more discipline in staying in the centre of the ring where Steward wanted him, Wright would have been less in the fight. To me that fight kind of showed Jermain's 'low ring IQ' I guess you could call it.

Yep I had Winky winning the fight by 2-3 points if I recall correctly. I can't believe some people actually scored round 12 for Taylor. :lol1:
anyone who gave the 12th round to taylor is a ****ing moron......who proves they just eat up anything HBO tells them.........
Winky took that round off.......Taylor did even less...
The 2nd time I watched it I had a draw. I think the outcome was fair, but I felt Winky showed he was the better man.

I thought a draw was a great call. I'm a Taylor fan though, but I still thought the draw was fair. But if it was to swing one guy's way it would be for Wright.

Agree with this. If he had just fought in the 12th instead of turning into retro stick and move Winky, he would've won.
I think Winky won a close fight!!Taylor was getting pushed back to the ropes & worked over!!It was close,a draw isn't that bad of a call,if Taylor won, that would have been robbery!!
im one of the biggest fan of both guys.......winky won that fight clearly....
