Chad Dawson.
I don't know how his name has not been mentioned in the replacement talk but Chad has stated before that he is willing to go down to SMW to make a name for himself if he has to. Dawson needs this tournament just as much as this tournament needs him. Dawson is dying to get his name out there and at the moment, there is no better way for him to do it than entering this tourney.
what do you guys think?
I personally would want Andrade part of the Tournament. He's a come forward fighter who is apparently impervious to pain or punishment, he'd make some exciting fights. I'm sure he'd want to be part of it, and Richard Schaeffer seems like the kind of guy that could make it happen without too much hassle.
As for Bute, I just have a feeling his people wouldn't bite, like they want to keep protecting him. I could be wrong though.
Dawson, PW, Winkters, Pascual maybe? But year there's waay better candidates than JT. The Boxing gods must really like him. How is it that JT is still ranked at number 8 in the world? Sheesh...
JT is a good fighter. keep in mind that he was winning the fight against froch before he got ko'd and he has 2(maybe gift) decisions over hopkins and a draw with winky. JT is still a solid fighter he's just had some bad luck lately.
I just made this thread incase JT doesn't continue due to his injuries but in no way is this a knock on him. he is a legit fighter.
well if Bute wins the fight he probably won't join cuz he already turned this tourney down. he could barely beat andrade and kessler schooled andrade so I doubt Bute wants any part of this tourney.
Dawson would be a more willing participant but I forgot that he's an hbo fighter.
This is where I'm confused.
Interbox, Bute's promoter, said they never received received an invite to be in the Super Six. Hershman also said the same thing at the NYC presser I believe.
Agree with this. Im thinking Bute is gonna beat Andrade, but if he doesn't and Andrade wins then at least he'll make for some exciting fights. Froch/Andrade would be pretty fun.
BTW Drew that Zelenoff sig kills me every time.
You're clearly a man of refined humor. BTW fear not, he'll be back. MMA is just a phase.

Winner of Andrade Bute 2 would be best possible option. That fight would serve as an eliminator into the tourney and if I'm not mistaken(and I probably am) it brings the last significant belt into the Super Six.
Edit: The whole HBO connection would be a problem, but in a perfect world the winner of this fight would be ideal.

IMO it'd be a bad idea for him to do it. Look at his last fight with Tarver--his body appears to have filled out to that of full fledged LHW. He'd drain himself now to make 168.
It should be Bute, but I think it'll be Green.
because realistically he probably can't even make 168 without harming himself. He's already grown into 175
I'm not convinced of this, Bomber. I reckon he could do 168, he's not the heaviest light heavy.

What sucks here is Bute-Andrade were showtime fighters!!But as soon as their names got big,hbo wisked them away!!If they were still showtime fighters, the winner of their rematch, which would have been on showtime anyway, could have been a super six 1st round eliminator & they could have walzts right in!!
Possible, yeah. He was willing to fight Williams at 168 (but oddly enough, not Kessler?), so he could be included. Otherwise I'd get Bika or the winner of Andrade-Bute II.
