Tryin to figure out which fight had the most Knock downs in a fight since like 1950. Tyson never had too many knockdowns in his fights since he finished em off, Foreman-Frazier 1 had a bunch of knockdowns but besides that I can't think of any that had more then 5 in a fight. Y'all help me out?
Lightweight world champion Jimmy Carter knocked down Tommy Collins 10 times in four rounds.
Vic Toweel the bantamweight champion had Danny O'Sullivan down 14 times in 10 rounds.
Both fights were in the 1950's.
Vargas vs. Trinidad is a great find. Yo thank all the boys for postin, Foreman Lyle was a great find too. Thank you all, wouldn't know bout these if it weren't for you guys.
For good back and forth, nothing tops George Foreman v Ron Lyle
i was thinking of that one... great fight bro... one of my favorites on the HW division
That was in December of '58. Not that I knew but I looked it up.
Moore was knocked down four times, three times in the first round; while Durelle was floored four times himself before being counted out.
So that's 8 right there.
In the rematch in '59 Durelle was floored 4 more times.
I couldn't recall how many times each were down but I knew it was a lot. I watched that fight a few times. Should have counted but I was in awe of the fight.
Thanks for the stats.
HOLY SHIT
I never knew this but this topic got me interested so I started to do a little research...WTF
Christy Williams vs. Battling Nelson. Pre-1950.
Floyd Patterson was knocked down 7 times in the third round when he lost to Ingemar Johannson.
Joe Frazier was dropped 6 times in 2 rounds against George Foreman.
Felix Trinidad knocked Fernando Vargas down 5 times in their fight, and was dropped once himself.
Marco Antonio Barrera scored 5 knockdowns I think against Kennedy McKinney (I know Pat Russell missed a KD, but he might've called a slip a KD if I remember correctly) and was dropped once.
Jorge Vaca was dropped 6 times in 3 rounds against Simon Brown.
1959: Archie Moore vs. Yvon Durelle. Great fight. Not sure if it had the most knockdowns but it had many.

Alright those are good, I just wanna get some like back and forth knockdown numbers ya know? Cotto-Torres, Holyfield-Moorer 2, I know Danny Williams-Klitschko had 5. Anybody else gotta fight that had more then six knockdowns that ain't more then fifty years ago?
