Why has no one talked about this?
Pac made Larios move up two weight clases (from 122 to 130) RIGHT AFTER HE WAS KO'D IN 3 ROUNDS BY IZZY VAZQUEZ! Not only that, Pac couldn't even KO him! He won a decision against a guy who had been KO'd in 3 rounds 2 weight classes below in his last fight!
Why does Floyd get shit for not KOing Marquez? Marquez has NEVER been KO'd, Floyd was coming off a 2-year layoff, and he is a a BOXER, not a PUNCHER like Pac. Oh, did I mention JMM was ranked #2 p4p?
Do you people (especially Pactards) really think what Floyd/JMM even begins to compare with the Pac/Larios situation?
pac/larios was only a tune up fight, and it was held in the philippines, you are stupid if you're going to compare pac/larios fight to mayweather/marquez fight.
compare mayweather/marquez over pac/DLH fight, that was the same scenario.
What? Everyone knows JMM was a tuneup to get to Pac. Difference is JMM was p4p #2
I love how everyone is defending pac yet criticizing floyd
That's freakin pathetic!
Mosley, Mayweather, ANYONE with a strong right hand would DESTROY Pacquiao.
Cotto's right is almost worthless, but if he develops a right hand the fight is in the bag.
there's notihng pathetic about that.

Well Hatton did win a title at 147 in his very first fight there..
That's irrelevant. Point is to equate Pacquiao ducking Raheem because he beat a common opponent at a different weight than which he was in would be like saying Malignaggi ducked Mayweather just because he beat Hatton who was the 140lb champion at 147 when Malignaggi was campaigning at 140 the entire time.
Wow, no wonder he ducked Raheem. Getting stunned by bums who were forced up two divisions... :wtf:
As for you idiot. How is it possible to duck Raheem just because he beat Morales when that fight was at lightweight and Pac was jr lightweight???
So Morales tried to move up and got beat back down to his real division. So what??
Hatton moved up to 147 and got beat back down to 140 by Mayweather. Hatton then got the biggest win of his career since Tszyu in beating Malignaggi so what's your point??
...I dont remember reading or seeing any news of pacs US liscense being suspended and the reasons you stated would have had nothing to do with that. explain how he fought erik morales, then larios, then morales a 3rd time if his liscense was revoked due to a promotional dispute, that makes absolutely no sense.
He fought larios to stay busy and that was basically it. And no, marquez would not be retired due to his ability to not get fights, i dont know how long you have followed the sport, but when marquez was fighting guys like victor polo on showtime, he was still getting tv time once in awhile, the idea that he would retire for a reason like that, i think you are playing way to much defense here.
It was on the news as part of the lawsuit that Golden Boys requested a freeze on Pacquiao and was unable to fight in the US until the lawsuit was over.
Took roughly a year. Yes Pacquiao fought Larios to stay busy but given the fact that it was fighting Pacquiao in his own backyard the list of possible options were very short and noone really stepped to the plate but Larios. So Larios should get credit where credit is due.
and the whole argument about JMM is inconsequential. Just how i personally viewed the situation.
Dont act like if larios wasnt p4p number 2 at the time he fought him, he would be considered just a tuneup.
I won't dignify this hypothetical situation w/ a response.
Morales best weight was really 122, yet its one of pacs signature wins even even though morales had really lost a step by the 3rd barrera fight.
wtf? morales was killing mofos at 126 lbs... he wasn't big enough at 130 lbs, but neither was pac when he first moved up.
First part is true!
Second part is complete garbage and a lie.
floyd stans act like beating up a blown up LW is floyd's greatest acheivement.... that's what's garbage.
why the fukk are we arguing why cotto faced michael jennings after eating 11 rounds worth of concrete? i dont care if he fought kevin kelly after that beating, he needed to come back with some confidence.
we are arguing about the quality of the win chico. & cotto eating loaded gloves is a speculation until proven otherwise.
pac/larios was a tune up and nobody is basing pac's p4p #1 on that fight.
floyd/jmm was a tune up and floyd stans think that win makes floyd the G.O.A.T.
that's the difference. keep shit in perspective son.

Please tell me where I said it was a great win.
Thanks in advance.
were just discussing boxing man. ok then if its not a great win, it was not much better than MP-LARIOS?
You seem to forget that the only reason that fight happened was because at the time there was a lawsuit over Pac's promotional rights between Top Rank and Golden Boy.
The result was Pacquiao's US boxing liscense being suspended and being unable to fight in the US for about 2 years. He would have been fighting Barrera for the WBC belt had it not happened and Marquez would probably be retired already due to his inability to get fights if he had never won the belt from Barrera in Pacquiao's place.

so ur criteria for having a great win is for sum perceived great fighter is for him to fight sum1 in his own weight class regardless of the caliber of the fighter? if it is, then assuming cotto wins over MP, his win over jennings was greater?

Cotto was coming off his first loss, a brutal KO. He needed a stay-active fight and confidence builder, that's normal. Jennings was also a WW, so it was OK. He did what he had to do.
