It more of a reflex from exertion. He throws everything he has into most of his punches so of course his eyes will cringe a bit.

It kinda comes natural, when you come in for a shot... you brace yourself to maybe getting countered... it aint keeping your eyes closed, cause he doesn't do it for a long time... its kinda him doing a sort of blink when flinching a little bit, cause he is bracing himself to maybe getting hit... if that makes sense?
