this is my fight anylisis for pavlik-williams
first off these guys have quite a few similaritys,
they are both the same hieght,
they both have tremendas workrates,
both do not get tierd,
both are easy to hit
this is gonna be a war, a GAREENTED war.
first off both guys will NOT start out slow, they both throw quite a few punches in the first round, and they will hit each other, and since there both easy to hit, expect a war right off the bat, and dont expect it to die down.
now if this holds to be true, Pavlik will have the advantage,
becaz pavlik may not have a hieght advantage, but he IS the naturally larger man, and can impose his streagth on the inside,
Pavlik also has the power advantage.
pavlik has proven to have a good chin, williams has a decent chin, but he's never been hit by a MW, let alone one that hits as hard as pavlik.
and pavlik has expireance in wars, paul really doesnt.
i think it will be pavlik by 7 round KO,
but its gonna be all out while it lasts.
if you do not agree do not hate or jus give one word answers, i will like you to explain your oppinion if you disagree
Williams has made a vast improvement on his defense, if he were as easy to hit as before, he would have gotten tagged by the rusty Winky. Fact is, when he's not punching, he's using consistent head movement and lateral movement. He wasn't doing that a couple fights ago.
1) The Miranda fight is the only fight, I've seen Pavlik use his strength on the inside and that's because Miranda moves straight back, other than that he hasn't used it. 2) Paul Williams is a 10x better fighter on the inside, his punches are shorter than most short armed fighters.
How can you say Williams has a decent chin, when he's never really even been buzzed, despite getting hit cleanly a lot? Of what I've seen of P-Will's chin nothing less than good-excellent can be said.
Margarito came on strong, hit him hard with some solid punches late and he still came back to win the 12th. That's called resilience, it wasn't a bloody war, but it was a high pace fight where a lot of energy was expended by both fighters, pretty damn close to a war.
I have to watch a couple of their fights before I make up my mind on who's winning, but I'm leaning towards Williams by decision or late ko. I agree with the war for as long as it lasts.
Co-sign great breakdown!!
PW does have head movement, but not much lateral movement IMO
I didn't say he's Calderon, but when he wasn't punching, he was employing some type of movement. Lateral and head.
Unless, he can't take Pavlik's punches when he lands (which I doubt), he's gonna win. If Pavlik can hurt him, it'll be a war, cuz instead of holding Paul fights back.
Paul doesn't need to hurt Pavlik, but he does need to get his respect, and he will.
It's not about the Winky win, I know he's Wright's stylistic nightmare, but it's how Williams won. Not only did he shut Winky down, but when he wasn't throwing 3,4,5+ punch combinations, he was giving head movement and using lateral movement. Winky couldn't hit him even when he wasn't punching.
B-Hop already showed he can Pavlik's vulnerability to lateral movement and when Taylor was moving his head, Pavlik would barely hit him. The more I talk the more I know Williams got this.

I think Williams would win this fight but it would be a battle. I'll be pissed if it don't happen, because I will realize I wasted my time posting about it.
i just dont think he has the power to really hurt pavlik, or the mentality to try to avoid him, and pavlik being his biggest opponite, packing the biggest punch, i just think it'll be to much.
and i dont take the winky win that siriously, pauls style is winky's weaknes, winky waits for you to stop punching, williams doesnt stop,
plus winky hadent fought in 2 years.

I think p will will take this because p will will be throwing and moving from all angles. If you move away from kelly's right like b hop did he wont know what to do
i respect your oppinion, and green k for backing it up,
just know that PW fights NOTHING lik bhop
Thanks. While PW fights nothing like BHop, we can still deduct from that fight what gives pavlik trouble, and thats movement. PW can look at that fight, and come up with a great game plan. If i were him, I would be very excited to get this fight signed.
I think Hopkins has laid the blue print for beating Pavlik, Hopkins destroyed Pavliks workrate.
I think Williams would beat him comprehensively, his workrate is better than Pavliks and his height and reach are slightly bigger than Pavliks.
I think Williams wins a decision since Pavlik showed nothing in the Rubio fight to show me he has changed.
I too believe this will be a mismatch in PW's favor. Pavlik was exposed with the BHop fight. Your anylisis mentions all of Pavliks advantages, but you fail to mention his disadvantages. Pavlik is stiff. He loses alot of his power and is much slower while fighting on the inside. He also has very slow feet, and gets lost when he is given angles and his opponent turns him.
Pavlik has to be set to throw. This makes him very predictable and most of the time, he only throws a 1-2. I can see PW getting off 5 punch combos before Pavlik even throws one shot. He is not a one punch KO guy, and PW's chin is very solid. The key to the fight for me is speed. PW has the hand speed and movement speed by a mile. I hope Pavlik opens as the favorite, I will lay down some major cash on PW if that is the case.

I think this is a mismatch in Williams favor. Pavlik could have found a better opponent to fight. He is a bit stiff and I think Williams is too good for Pavlik to catch. I see a UD all the way thru for the punisher
how is this a mismatch?
how is pavlik stiff?
explain.
thanx for a decent counter arguement.
i mentioned that pavlik and williams were the same hieght,
but i still think pavlik has more expireance in the type of fight this will be,
paul did have a war with margo, but pavlik has had many wars,
and about bhop ruining pavlik, idk
i hope not.
I know you mentioned them being the same height (only short bus riders believe Paul is really 6'1", if anything he's taller than Kelly) just pointing out that Pavlik does fight taller. Pavlik has been in more wars, but they may also be catching up to him, we'll see.
Yeah, for the sake of fans expecting a great fight, I hope Pavlik is not ruined either.
