I think both are young beasts...Dawson could run 175 I don't see anyone(unless B-Hop fights him) stopping him from doing that. I think he'll beat Johnson in the rematch as well.
Paul Williams is my choice. Can compete(at least) from 154-160. Idk about 147. 154 I think he can handily beat Martinez and any other contenders. He has a few potential opponents. At 160 there's Pavlik, Abraham, Sturm. Danny Jacobs is a good prospect.
I think Chad could easily run 175. Competition looks thin there. Paul could run 154, at 160 he may have some problems...
Your thoughts?
Paul is kind of like Manny P in the sense that they both can have incredible career fighting with their natural ablities and talent. However, like Manny, Paul has the potentual to experience a tremedous growth spurt skillwise if things stay on course. Sometimes I look at Paul and wonder if he is even in his prime yet. P-Will be kickin ass with ease and still has undotted I's and uncrossed T's in his game. That is was is frightening. Chad, on the otherhand, is much more the season professional, meaning there's much less room for improvement.
This is almost too close to call right now. Paul Williams is very good and rare talent, but I see Dawson beating Johnson now, moving down and winning a couple big fights (Williams if they ever fight), and moving up to have a great fight against Cloud.
Pavlik and Abraham are moving up so 160 will be PW's, but he will lose chasing after big fights at 168, even though he will be successful against the right fighters.
Dawson is overall more talented and skilled and can rule 175.
Williams is a beast though and would do major damage at 154 and possibly 160, even at 147 he can do damage if he can still make it.
Dawson can improve his stamina. His stamina was fine against Harding, Tarver I, and Adamek. Dawson will be in fights where he doesn't show any stamina issue, than there is fights that he does. Yeah it's something he needs to correct.
yep, if dawson could pour it on late he could take alot of fighters to the deep side of the pool and drown them. too bad he doesn't have enough stamina to do that.
paul has more potential than dawson.
dawson's stamina issues limit his potential.

They are about even in my opinion. Their styles are different so its hard to compare that.If forced to, I would have to give the edge to Williams. He's like the energizer bunny, he keeps going and going. His style makes for an all action fight. But he gets hit too much for my liking.I also think he can be out boxed by someone with a lot of experience and who knows how to set traps in the ring.Dawson is more fundamental and will probably have the longer career.I also think that he has the better corner, which means alot to a fighters long term success.I visualize these two getting it on one day.It will be a heck of a fight.
I think Dawson has better skills and better gifts, Williams is a freak of nature though but I have a feeling that's he's a flash in the pan type of guy, he takes shots, he throws a lot of shots, that kind of style wears a person out faster than a guy with Dawson's style but while Williams is at his best, he can do a lot of damage, I just don't think his best will be that long.
Paul ill take him.. he is like scottie pippen kill u from all over lol n rangy.. i agree 154 is his proper division, but at the same time i think he has what it takes to get down to a 147 for a big fight n b fine..
P.S I miss sam solimon, he beat winky man lol
Well Dawson says he could still make 168, maybe tear up there, come back and dominate 175, maybe move up to CW in about 4 or 5 years. PWILL has a chance to win a title at 160, most likely from Sturm, but maybe Pavlik as well. I don't think he can beat Dawson at 168, but maybe if Dawson's not there. Pretty close, slight edge to Williams.
i would go with paul simply because he could have good fights in three weight divisions. i dont think he could have many, but i think he could make 147 at least once or twice more. i would agree that paul might have some problems at 160 but i think his punch out put would give him a better than average chance...even against pavlik and abraham
I see chad as solid at 175 but thats about it...except maybe cruiser, where i think his athleticism could take him places. i mean, hell, adamek is running the cruisers, and chad already beat him.
Pwill. If he settles into his proper division (154 imo), nobody's beatin him. I think Dawson can beat Glen in the rematch at this point. But past that, he's got no options at 175. Plenty of fights at 168, but some of those guys can beat him. And his style ain't as excitin as Pwill, so cats won't take to him as much.
