Okay, i watched the same fight as all of you. In some post i have read about this fight, some of you exaggerate your ass off. You make it seem Morales won every single round of this fight. That Pacquiao lost badly.
Remember the scorecards were all 115-113. that means Morales edged it out and won 7 rounds of 12 in the match on all 3 cards. He did Beat Pacquiao Convincingly, i will admit that, but honestly do you think he really beat him with EASE?
i think that this loss lets Pacquiao Haters feel good saying he got whooped badly to a Prime Morales, when in reality it was a close fight that Morales edged out.

It was a close but clear victory for him. I don't think anyone thinks that it was not close, or I haven't heard anyone say that Morales gave him a whippin'.
The bold part though is wrong. This was still not close to a prime Morales. He was long gone already. He fought about as good as he could have at that stage and as well as his ruined body could produce at that point but he was already f*cked up.
The fight straight after he lost really badly to Zahir Raheem and the fight before that he lost and got pretty badly beaten up by Barrera.
When he first got really hurt, for the first time in his career, against Jesus Chavez it was very easy to see then that it was close to being all over for him. In that fight he looked slower, didn't have the same punch resistance, less reflexes etc etc. Then he looked terrible (no pun intended) against Hernandez as well. His whole SFW run was just a series of fights that showed a fighter at the very end of his tether. He was done badly even by the time he fought Pac the first time.
This has no bearing and is not a dig towards Pac at all so don't have a fit. All you need to do is watch a prime Morales at SBW or FW and the difference is unreal. Hes' a completely different fighter. It's so sad seeing him lose so easily. Right when he got hit he would fight back so har4d and like such a psychopath ti was incredible. When he got hurt by Chavez and didn't do the usual thing, I knew then that he was near the end.
Great fighter Morales. One of boxing greatest ever warriors. A true legend.
Morales did give 1 round away so it went 115 - 113 instead of 116 - 112. I still think it was a close and entertaining fight. The cut was indeed a telling factor in the fight because you can see how Pacquiao was bothered by it. Still we got to give props to Pacquiao for continuing on despite fighting with that cut. Morales had a good gameplan against Pacquiao as he used Pacquiao's aggresiveness against him.
someone help this guy, before i wet my pants, NYHAHAHAHHAHA
you epicaly failed on your own reasoning because the other poster used your own words against you, epic fail 2x in fact
Morales beat Pacquiao, So thats more than enough for me to give Morales credit. Then again I gave them both credit enough, Had it not been for Corrales v.s Castillo 1, this would have easily been FOTY 2005.
Then, it`s a fact you didn`t see the last round. Morales didn`t go southpaw in the last round, he got staggered. If that was 15 rounds he could have lost.
By the way, a trilogy is intended to decide who really rapes who. So if Pac won by 2-1, I wonder why you keep dreaming. Wake up! It`s 2009 already! Pac raped and dominated your boy, weee !!!!
dude you look pretty dumb. Morales went south paw the whole round. Pac didn't hit him till morales went southaw. Morales was toying with him cause he knew there was nothing pac could do to hurt him. that took a lot of guts.

and dont forget the fight was already over in the last round and morales went south paw just for the fun of it took every single shot from pack and gave him some lost the round out of carelessness and still won the fight. It was a good entertaining fight. Pac gave it all he had and it wasn't enough. It was clear from the first round when morales had pac dangling on the ropes that pac was in for a long night.
A one-eyed PAC w/ pillow gloves to boot gave Erika hell. Erika and his team were so concerned about PAC's power that they made sure that it was on the contract that both fighters wear Winning.
From the fifth round onwards PAC was virtually fighting on instinct, the gameplan was thrown out the window as my boy was fighting with one eye and all Erika could muster was a 115-113 points win. He did it in convincing fashion, but he couldn't even down my boy.
In the same fight, PAC rocked Erika harder in the 12th than any other rounds Erika won.
Watch the first or 2nd round closely, those two or three hooks to the body delivered by PAC nearly bowled Erika over. PAC went headhunting the rest of the fight.
Those hooks to the body by PAC were the best punches in the fight!
In the first fight, Pacquiao was forced to wear the fluffier Winning gloves that Morales prefers, and he was not comfortable in them and pac got butted. thats why he got outboxed by morales. i still gave morales teh credit for beating my boy pacquiao.
look in teh 2nd fight.
morales FELT PACMANS POWER COZ MANNY USED HIS OWN GLOVES. MORALES GOT KOD.
the prime morales vs pacquiao now is a mismatch in 140.hahaha.
pacquiao will dominate him.
You're saying that Pac is gonna hit prime in his next fight? I dunnoooo....
And wasn`t Morales staggered in the 12th round? Giving away a round, especially a last round is the most obnoxious thing I ever heard. I don`t buy that.
If Morales was knocked down in that round, it could have been a draw. EM is not that noob.
I'm not saying that he gave him it just to give it to him, but he knew Manny needed a knockout, and he wanted to give Pacquiao an intense finish so he gave him the big advantage and opened up in the southpaw stance for him. He also nailed some scary right hooks on Pacquiao from that stance, and yet Pacquiao proceeded to bang away with a good 4 gigantic left hands in that round. It was an amazing finish to an amazing fight between 2 of my favorite fighters of all time. I'm not saying Pacquiao was dominated, but he was convincingly beat and Morales was able to get away with going southpaw in the 12th. The cut that was incorrectly ruled as a butt played a factor as well, not everything is so black and white. Morales was the better man that night, but there were issues in the way (such as gloves, a headbutt), and Morales was perhaps on the decline while Pacquiao was still getting better so it's hard to say who's prime is truly better.
My point was simply that Morales did indeed willingly go southpaw in the 12th and go toe to toe giving Pacquiao the advantage. He also says in the post fight interview that he went southpaw because he knew he was ahead on the scorecards and he wanted to give the fans the great fight they deserve.
it's up there isn't it? i have been here for a long time i guess.
Sharing is caring my friend.
Yeahh the score was dead accurate, but Morales did win very convincingly and definitely gave away the 12th round to make that statement. Also, I have the fight and I just watched it again, he certainly did turn southpaw in the 12th round (maybe halfway through). My friend you seriously need to rewatch that fight. Morales is one of my all time favorites. I just ordered his career set along with 4 others the other day.. My boxing library is getting bigger boyyeeeee!!
Exactly. He showed him round to round who the better man was that night and gave it the biggest ****in punctuation ever by turning southpaw in the 12th. That was ****ing epic. Legendary-type shit. That's why I consider him greater than his contemporaries. He took many risks throughout his career and always did shit the way he (and his fans) wanted to.
your rep power is legendary-type shit... :)
Certainly wasn't a domination but Morales did school him a little something that night. He outboxed him and, surprisingly, outbrawled him.

It was one of the most dominating-close fights I've seen.
The thing with boxing is the 10 point must scoring. So even if someone get's beat handedly, you can still get close scoring due to the winning of a few close rounds.
Pac's haters need sumthin to hold onto. They got the fact that he was KO'd when he was a kid, his victims bein 'old and shot,' JMM 'winnin' both fights, and EM gettin a win on him. The EM win is the best option, and the decision bein close as could be ain't enuf to dead the hate.
what a keen observer u are mr. mangler sir...

its just the way that Morales won.
he outdid Marquez in counterpunching, and seemed like he had Pacquiao's style down after that convincing 11th round.
in theory, if the fight was 15 rounds, imo Morales could have won every round past the 10th if he wanted to. but thats just hypothetical.
its the most clear loss of Pacquiao's career since his early days, so you should expect people to exaggerate a little bit.
its overblown a little bit, because not too many people expected Morales to win, coming off a clear loss to Barrera(great fight) and considering Barrera had gotten beaten up by Pacquiao a few years before.
