First lets define what "weight-drained" means.
Weight drained is when a fighter has too cut massive amounts of weight/water weight in a very short amount of time, therefore leaving him weakened and dehydrated. It was reported that Oscar was at 150lbs about 3weeks prior to the weigh-in. Now does this mean that Oscar was in peak physical condition, no. He most likely wasnt in peak physical condition. Doing what he did at his age will weaken anyone to an extent. My thing is, i feel people throw the word/s "weight-drained" around too much without knowing its actual meaning. Now had oscar been 150+ 1-2days prior to weight in, and was having trouble taking those last few lbs off, then i would say that he was probably weight-drained, but that wasnt the case. He made the weight with no problem, but had trouble putting weight back on after the weigh in.
Even if he was it doesn't matter....in this fight or any fight because it is not the opponents responsibility to make sure they guy they beat up comes in at a health weight. So stop trying to marginalize Pac's win over DLH.......and why we are at it stop doing the same to RJJ's ancient win over Toney too.[/QUOTE
PAC won the fight he fought a good fight and used every advantage he had over Oscar. That is what you do in the ring you try to make the other guy fight your game. Roach knew Oscar was Dehydrated and told PAC to jump on him early. Nuff siad Pac closed the show and will meet hatton May 2nd.
Too answer the question about Oscar he could have easily been dehydrated. Would have nothing to do with having trouble making the weight either could have to do with lots of things. What ever the case he did NOT look good at 147 period end of story. Do i think he was as bad as he looked that night? Ummmmmm let me say this Manny Pacquiao will make alot of fighters look bad on their best nights. It clearly wasn't Oscar's best night and I do not think he is as bad as he looked that night....Lefty
Watch the new 24/7. Roach talks about seeing IV marks and fresh blood on Oscars arm when they got in the ring. He was dehydrated enough to need an IV in the dressing room. Take from that what you want.
Roach talked about this back in December '08. It's not new to the latest 24/7.

How the hell do you overtrain? Haven't you watched any of the Rocky movies? Basically whoever trains the hardest and puts themselves through the most agonizing hell, wins the fight.
LMAO at using a MOVIE as an example
That shit was priceless!

You can overexert yourself to the point where u wasted so much energy training, that you have little left come fight time.
Actually, I believe he was overtrained..

How about the words overtrained, or underweight then? It's just as bad. All the pros agree, Oscar hit goal much too soon before the fight. And then you have Schaefer saying he really wasn't even 147 on fight night, that he was 145 still. Oscar just had clothes on the night of the fight for that weigh-in.
Word from his camp was that he made the weight fine, but when it came time to adding on some lbs after the weigh-in, his body just couldnt do it.
This thread has nothing to do with Floyd or Pac vs Oscar. It has to do with the fact that some people use the words weight drained without knowing its meaning.

the point is this: In Oscar vs. Floyd, Floyd weighed less than Oscar and owned him.
In Oscar vs. Pacman, Oscar weighed LESS than Pacman.
Nuff said.
it's not how much u weight...it's how u lose or gain the weight
i think he's body wasn't ready to make that weight.
