Calzaghe vs P. Williams who wins? @ 168

anyone who thinks williams can win needs to be banned. I voted too close to call. Calzaghe is an excellent fighter with more pop than people give him credit for. If he didn't have some pop Hopkins would have come off the ropes and gone toe to toe with him. Calzaghe has a high punch/slap rate to keep his opponent off balance and then changes pace and puts his weight into it. Again, if he threw nothing but slaps then he wouldn't have cut up and TKO'd Roy Jones. He's got weight and experience over Williams. But Williams has youth and a style that should give Calzaghe trouble. Calzaghe throws "slaps" as a defense -- keep the other guy busy. I don't see this working well against Williams. I wouldn't be shocked if Calzaghe dominated the fight after the first couple of rounds but I also wouldn't be surprised either if Williams youth and energy allowed him to win a decision.

I think Williams would lose to anyone with power. He is FAR too easy to hit and interestingly always seems to end up fighting guys with very low KO percentages.

Calzaghe would win a pretty easy decision at 175 if he came out of retirement. I doubt Joe can make 168 anymore. It's amazing the amount of credit PW is getting for beating a 37 year old after a 2 year layoff yet JC gets nothing but hate for beating Eubank, Hopkins and Jones for being "old or past prime" which is what the majority here would be saying if Joe beat Winky. It would be nothing but a million excuses...

Calzaghe would beat Williams, would be a high workrate fight though, could end up smashing Compubox records, with both of them throwing 100 punches a round.

All I know about this fight is there would be over 1000 missed punches. The judges would have a hard time deciding whose workrate won the fight. (Too bad Larryx isn't around for comment)

Stepped up to Light heavy....went down once in each fight from clean connections but got up within a second of going down....please stop hating and talkin out ur ass co-sign people are so wrong about joe that make mistakes. look what happens to lacy, hopkins and jones. they all thought that joe was going to be an easy fight. I can't even believe people actually contemplate Williams winning this fight?!? Calzaghe is too slick, too fast and experienced for Paul Williams to handle. Calzaghe can stack up the slaps a lot quicker then Williams can punch. By the time each round is finished Calzaghe would look a lot busier to the judges. It wouldn't surprise me if Calzaghe won every round.
