I thought of this because texican mentioned that he thinks a lot of WWF fans became MMA fans, which is a decent assumption. So how about it, did you start off as a wrestling fan? Also please feel free to make any wrestler/boxer comparisons you see fit. Texican has a couple good ones below. Here's part of our conversation.

Congrats on 1000, I just had mine.

Actually I did too. You could say that Mayorga is the Brooklyn Brawler of boxing and Judah is Koko B. Ware.
i liked wrestling as a kid ... but i dont think in any way that evolved into my love for boxing now ... why i think i love boxing so much now is because my dad was a boxing fan .... i was exposed to it and now i'm a hige fan of the sport ...
I started watching WWF around '88 (I was 3-4) and stopped watching it when I was 12 or 13 in the later 90's.
I started watching boxing around the same time as wrestling and I still love it.
Total wrestling fan, me. Been a fan for 10 years and never given up on it. There was a long spell some years ago when I couldn't watch much boxing because I didn't have PPV, but now I enjoy being a fan of both - I get a weekly 'fix' of squared circle action that way (one being a fantasy soap with cool stunts, and the other being hardcore bangin action with gloves; what's not to love?)
I reckon The Rock should've tried boxing. His quivering slaps would've been funny to watch with gloves! :laff2:
Fuck, no!
Even as a kid I thought wrestling was ridiculous. Most other kids I knew were into it. I always told 'em boxing was where it's at.

I know right. Why is it so horrible to think there's a connection? It's just a natural human progression theory.

i don't feel there's a connection between being a wrestling fan to becoming a boxing fan in my case. i watched the WWF during the Attitude era then stopped watching it completely. it would be years later til i took an interest in boxing.
I started watching WWF when I was like 5 years old and then moved on to boxing in the mid 90's when Chavez and Tyson where fighting thanks to my dad and uncles.
