Harold's Classic "Ok Jim!"?
Lennox's "Definately!"
Steward's "I was about to say... "x" (e.x.: Something nearly impossible to predict happens, like a knock down out of nowhere, and then Steward says "I was about to say that Ivan Calderon will knock Nikolai Valuev out with a massive straight left.")
Or Lampley's random "And!" conjunctions out of no where (e.x.: ...And down goes "x" on a big "x" by "x"!", or "...And a huge "x" by "x"!")
Harold's the 'Man!'
Jim Lampley: "Harold, how do you have it going into the twelfth?"
Harold Lederman: "AAAAttenchun! 105 - 103! Six, four and 1 even. Jim I gotta tell ya..."
The guy is a 'Classic' and the number 1 official fight scorer on TV.
Emmanuel Steward's both a commentator and trainer for HBO with his coaching from ringside. This was evident at Gatti v Ward by Manny saying to Ward: "That's it go to the body!"
Larry Merchant:
"To quote duke ellington I got it bad...it ain't good"
ohhhhman that 1 is classic, and lampley & steward all bust out laughing so hard, i rewinded that it was so funny
"For men only" Jirov-Toney, i love it when lampley gets excited and starts yelling, stewart too on those rare occasions - 12th Jirov Toney - in the corner to Lewis in Tyson fight "get this muthafuka outta here!"
I'v heard Lewis on HBO say the same quote 5 or 6 times "It only takes one punch to divert history" as if it's the most profound thing he's ever thought up and it's so good he has to say it as often as possible......you can;t compete with Larry
i'll always love Larrys deep thoughts, he's a poet and a scholar
Lampley and Merchant during Hopkins Vs Tarver:
Lampley - "They both love the way they look"
Merchant - "They may like the way they look, but i don't like the way they look together"
Lampley - "Meaning it's an edgy fight?"
Merchant - "Meaning, wake me up when something happens"
.
Steward after Delahoya vs Mayorga.
"To me...he fought a perfect fight!"
Steward during hopkins vs Tarver, when lampley asks him if hopkins will retire.
"I don't know...it's a going to be a big test!
lol me and my friends were actually making fun of the hbo commentators last night and we were all figuring out how to impersonate each of them.
lederman's the best.
