Cotto vs Torres [what a classic]

Great, great fight. Before this happened people were giving Cotto grief about being too left hand happy...saying he had no right. ****, the counter right hand Cotto landed in the 6th was brilliant...just as big George was runnin off at the mouth. That fight was incredible.

Nahhh Williams didnt pound Margarito hard like Cotto did Quintana........ or Cotto did Margarito. Margarito came out the Cotto fight looking the worst he's ever looked.

i don't think cotto/torres was a classic... cotto should've beaten torres easy. torres is B+ at best. Torres may be a B+ Class fighter, but that doesn't make him any less a threat. Cotto has defense liabilities, and when he traded with the faster guy who could really punch he got caught. It was a classic because both guys were getting hurt in pretty much every round.

i hate when pppl bring excuses. TORRES WAS IN FULL TRAINING. he was doing to fight later that week,IN 2 WEEKS NOTICE they told him to fight cotto. that's enough time if u ask me to study ur opponent.

One of my favorite fights..

The one thing that people forget is that Torres was taking every other round off. You can't do that against Cotto. And look at Torres in the corner after every round...he was VERY uncomfortable, he looked defeated. There is no question in my mind that Cotto's excellent body work in this fight won it for him. Torres was hurting the whole fight, even after the rounds where he hurt Cotto he looked worried.

A Galarza ya lo han tumbado en su debut... but fighters have yet to go 3 complete rounds with the guy and besides, hes 23 years old, mientras se quede enfocado, hes going to be something. I liked Galarza when he was part of the national team, as a pro I see him looking for KO in every opportunity and take too many shots, sure he can KO those guys, but he needs to work on his deffense and be once again the fighter he was. I wouldn't worry about him being down, Juanma was down also in one of his first fights, but now you see him being a bit more careful, that's what Galarza needs to do.

Needless to say I'm a huge Cotto fan, having said that, smart fighters don't take the punishment Cotto took there and in the Margarito fights. Cotto is not the biggest hitter in the game or slickest boxer either, but he's a better boxer than a puncher, he should stick to boxing and avoid brawling, he's too concerned about pleasing fans.
