Since some have wondered if Manny would have beaten Chico and Castillo that Floyd fought...and it's been asked about if Floyd can beat Duran...why not push it further and wonder if Manny could have beaten certain fighters on his way up if these fighters were in their prime.
Fantasy: Prime vs. Prime: Pac vs. Duran. And you can comment on if you think Manny would beat the Chico and Castillo that Floyd fought.
And yes; I know where Manny started ;)
All Duran needs to do is pin Pac to the ropes and work inside because Pac will not fight inside if his life depended on it. Plus Duran in his prime is the master of slipping punches and counterpunching. Very good defensive fighter that guy was. If JMM can outbox Pac's ears off who is an excellent technician then Duran one of the best technicians that ever lived will abuse Pac.
Yes Duran is a master at some things, but Duran lost to all the very good fighters he ever fought, like benitez, de jesues, SRL and hearns, and also lost to not so good kirkland laings of this world.
Many took Duran the distance and are you implying someone as great as Pac couldnt? Pac would beat Duran.

Pac would beat Duran at 140 and 47 Duran lost most of the fights against the great fighters apart from one you could say against SRL. He also lost to kirkland laing who werent even a champion ever quite comfortably. People always forgive and excuse Durans poor showings and too easy on Duran. Whereas you have Pac destroying proven champions 18lbs heavier than him consistently.
Pac wouldnt lose to a non champion and has only lost one fight against Morales, but has improved since so much. Pac hasnt lost a fight in his prime yet.
I want to ask this. Do you think this fantasy matchup would develop like Duran vs DeJesus Fights or would be more like or Duran vs Leonard II or III or Duran vs Benitez (or another fights you have in mind)?
Difficult to pick a winner because you dont know what game plan they would employ
Pacquiao stays on the outside he would be too quick for Duran.
Pacquiao gets into a fight with Duran he would lose.
i like how so many people belittle pacquiao... styles make fights
it's not belittling pacquiao.
duran , imo , is the greatest 135 lb. fighter of all time.
nothing wrong with saying a atg natural 126 lb. fighter like pacquiao would lose to him.
use your head.
it's like roy jones was an atg 175 fighter but if you put him up against muhammad ali the greatest heavyweight of all time......of course people are gonna say ali would beat him.
common sense.
Does Duran say No Mas before Manny beats the shit out of him, or only afterwards?
ummm......
you do realize that duran is the greatest lightweight fighter ever in boxing history right?
you do realize that duran beat arguably the greatest welterweight in boxing history as well?
you do realize that duran went the distance and was competitive with the greatest middleweight in boxing history?
shut up , castor.
quit with that no mas shit. duran wasn't even hurt in the fight.
do you even know that him saying NO MAS is a myth?
he didn't say NO MAS as in NO MORE.
what he said in spanish was something like "MAN , I'M NOT WASTING MY TIME WITH THIS CLOWN ANYMORE."
he wasn't getting beat up. he had not trained properly for the fight and he was getting embarassed and frustrated from leonard's clowning tactics.
lmao... seriously people?.. pacman duran?
lol pac would get tghe shit knocked out of him.
the whole phillipines would email he site saying.. Hell no pac step back

never said he would...im sure he would go out on his shield like a proud warrior...trust me, if you've seen me on these boards, im a huge manny fan but Duran was something else bro...seriously
I'm sure Duran was a good fighter, but greats don't say no mas. In my opinion, thats how I view this sport. I'm sure some mexicans consider JCC to be an all time great... But I think its disgusting when someone quits on the stool... Not a legend in my books when soemone does that. If you want to be a true warrior, then go out on your feet.
I respect fighters like David Diaz, more then I do Oscar, Chavez, and Duran.
im a huge manny fan but roberto takes this one....via brutal beating
Duran says No Mas to warriors like Pacquiao, you'll never see pacquiao quit on a stool.
Duran says No Mas, after getting his ass kicked really bad by pacquiao and doesn't get up from his stool.

At least were in the same boat in regards to Roberto Duran. All you have to do is watch his fights and see how great he was as an all around fighter. And, read a bit and understand what was going on through the course of his career that would make him lose at certain times...and who he was fighting.
You should hear what the guy with the glasses said about Duran:

One of the other guy made a great case in that you can't hold the Hearns win against Duran because Joe Louis also got starched early on. Then had interesting comments.
duran beats down pac and rather easily imo.
i don't know who would think pac could beat roberto. especially by ko? mofo's smoking some shit.
he beat sugar ray at 147 and barkley at 160.
that'd be like pacquiao beating floyd at 147 and pavlik at 160.
duran would be too strong , too tough and too good for manny.
Yes he was an incredible all around fighter. But many people tend to overlook his superb defense because of his relentless offense. Don't get me wrong, there are many educated fanson here and on other sites. Unfortunetly there are many times more the amount of ignorant fans that base their opinions of Duran on the second Leonard fight and blow out loss to Hearns. Duran, in my lifetime, comes as close to the perfect fighting machine as just about any other fighter I have seen. The guy had it all.

Duran would probably win this one, he has too much of everything for Pacquiao, he has the chin to take Pacquaio's shots, the power to hut Pacquiao and he had enough speed so it's not a huge advantage for Pacquaio.
