I'd prefer to see King Arthur 1000 times more than Calzaghe
King Arthur!
King Arthur!
King Arthur!
Looking at your siggy makes me remember how much I miss Germany. Anyway, yeah I'd much rather see Pavlik fight Arthur. We'll have to see if he's able to effectively make MW again after muscling up to fight Hopkins, but there'd be fireworks in that one for sure.
I'd like to see him fight Abraham if he beats Hopkins.
It's a shame Pavlik should be fighting at 160 to build his legacy, but he's forced to fight at higher weight classes. 160 is where he should be.
The winner of Calzaghe-Jones, although I think Jones would rather face Dawson.
And Joe Calzaghe isn't retiring. It's almost hilarious to watch him say it and expect us to take him seriously.
Biggest fight out there for him is clearly Calzaghe, but Joe has long said this will most likely be his last fight. So it should be seen as a bonus if he can get him, but he'd ultimately lose in many peoples eyes, so is it such a good fight for him. I'd respect him facing the best but it's largely financial and p4p benefits Kelly wants from Joe.
He's far more likely to win against Abraham if Arthur can make 160 again, so he needs to lands one of those two guys in his next fight definitely, and be quick about it.
In terms of shit talking about Joe I'm not so sure that'll work, he's too old for that shit now, it'll just make him feel he is tool old for all that pallava anymore and retire with the same mentality of Lennox Lewis. Plus, the one more guy, or he retired cos of me won't work as Dawson is another, and there'll always be a new one Joe should apparently face.
i think he should unify the Middleweight divsion titles.
it will help him out the most in the long run (in terms of respect, legacy, and money).
but to be honest pavlik (in the eyes of the majority) is already at the top...so he can basically do what he wants...especially if he beats hopkins...no matter how old hopkins is it looks great on his resume...especially 5 years down the road...many wont really take into account his age because hopkins' name will outweight that.
In a perfect world he fight's Abraham first. Then a final unification against Sturm. After that it's 168.
I do however have doubts that Pavlik and Abraham will meet at 160 tbh.
if he wants money then he fill fight calzaghe (Most likely will happen), since arum is all in it for the money.
on the other hand, if he wants to unify the division then Abraham is the man, but there's little money involve with this one and its a high risk low reward (money) thing going on. in case this fight happens, what weight will they fight at?
Though I know that Pavlik going back down to 160lbs to unify the division would be the "right thing" to do, I feel that he really has no interests in doing so. He does not want to be confined to the middleweight division, and if a fighter is not happy there, why make him stay?
The super middle weight division is packed with some really exciting fighters like Kessler, Bute, Andrade, Lacy, Froch, and Inkin; and thats not including Calzaghe if he gets lonley at 175 and decides to get some at 168.
Pavlik, be smart. Dont fight at 175 for sure and attack some lesser opponents at 168 to build your name and adjust your body to the division. Since Abraham would be a good fight at 160, it would be an even better fight at 168, so those who want to see them fight could see it there.
If Pavlik can get past Abraham and maybe the winner of Bute/ Andrade (which will be a great fight), he can set himself up with a fight against Kessler and then maybe Calzaghe at 168 or even 175 down the road. But this "young lion" should not take on the veterans so fast without adjusting to lesser opponents while going up in weight.
Pavlik/Abraham is retarded, Abraham hasn't beaten anyone of note except Miranda. Pavlik beat Taylor, Miranda, Zertuche, Zuniga, and McKart. Pavliks resume trumps Abraham
