How the FUK was Dawson boring?

How anyone could think that wasn't an exciting fight is beyond me. Granted, it wasn't Gatti/Ward 1, but then both guys are are a hell of a lot more skillful than those two. It was a great fight with great skills. Dawson is a very entertaining fighter. He has all the skills needed and yet uses them very entertainingly. He really showed up a good fighter in Tarver today and Tarver, despite being nearly forty, fought very well himself. He was still throwing many punches in the twelfth even after being knocked down. Good stuff. I think Dawson has shown that he will be the future of the light-heavy/cruiser-weight divisions for a while to come. He has an exciting style with the skills to last a long time. The fact he can also be hurt or dropped every now and then just makes it more exciting.

Someone explain how a fighter who is able to use lateral movement, stop and throw 6-8 punch combinations boring? i cant believe some of the shit im reading here. Most of these brutes and savages don't fully appreciate the sweet science of bruising.

I thought the fight was O.K noting special. Dawson didn't look any better then before...his accuracy wasn't good. Honestly, I thought he won on workrate alone. I'm ATLEAST happy that Tarver continued to fight and didn't get discouraged by Dawson's style, like the B-Hop fight. That's a reasonable recap. Not everything is either great or terrible.

He didnt particularly say that, but i have seen numerous times on this forum, where if one poster claims that a fighter or fight was "boring", another would say something like "well if u cant appreciate a tactical/defensive performance, then you're not a real boxing fan" My view is..."who the fuk are u to tell me what or who i should find entertaining?" 2501 is basically saying that he cant understand how someone can find Dawson's performance tonight boring. Yes he is saying that and I'm saying that as well. Sorry we all can't be as politically correct as you and respect other peoples opinions regarding everything. Goes back to my main point. It's a message board, it's why it's here for. If you got an opinion that differs from 98% of everybody elses, you will get called out on it forcefully. Nobody will respect your opinion because it's your preferance and move on. That's just how it goes.

See thats the thing, Im not saying Dawson didnt look damn good. Cause he did. He looked like a totally different fighter from the Johnson fight. Im just saying I didnt really enjoy the fight. he's not that much different from that fight he did the same stuff. styles makes fights as they say and johnson is pressure fighter. tarver is a boxer so how ppl came to the conclusion from the johnson fight that tarver could win is beyond me. tarver looked the same against woods too just that woods was just that much worse.

Ummm, because this is a message board - made for people with different views and opinions about boxing. If we all agreed in here and never made threads like this, there would be no reason for any of us to keep coming back in here. I agree. Although i found it his performance to be quite entertaining, who are u to tell someone who they should find entertaining or not? People have different preferences. If we're both fans of hip hop, and u find an artist/group/song to be great, and i think differently. Am i wrong? Jay Z might be great to you, but not to me. Does that mean im not a "real" hip hop fan? No. It means we have different preference in taste. To each its own.

The fight wasn't that excitin to me, although it had its moments. It was fun enough for me watchin Tarver lose tho, so I ain't complainin. :)
