Do you prefer a Mayweather vs Baldomir type boxing lesson vs a Morales vs Barrera fight.
Or any other boxing clinics you can think of vs a toe to toe battle.

Toe-to-Toe, but sometimes it’s great to see a clinic especially if the guy being schooled was the majority pick by “experts” and idiot forum “fans” alike, while I backed the underdog to pull it off (taking abuse off the fans in the process leading up to the fight)…

I prefer boxing clinics. It's the only way boxing can differ from mma really. They will beat us to the point in blood baths, slug feasts and brutal KOS both in frequency and spectacular of it.
Depends what mood I'm in. I love both, though I do prefer a skilled fight over a pure unskilled brawl. Saying that, as Irish said, most of the top fighters when brawling do so with great skill. I love watching fighters that actually fight but do so with amazing skill, like Duran, Marquez or Toney etc. They would be my favourite type of fights/fighters.
While I enjoyed watching Gatti/Ward 1, I also found it frustrating seeing a great fighter take so much punishment and get his head absolutely pounded while just standing there taking it. It makes me feel sorry for him.
Ali vs Foreman or Holyfield vs Bowe, which fight is more memorable
that has less to do with the type of fight it was than the outcome of the fight. if Ali came out the victor in a toe-to-toe slug fest, that fight would have been much more memorable no doubt.
toe-to-toe:
morales-barrera
JLC-corrales
boxing clinic:
PBF-baldomir
winky-trinidad
i would prefere a toe-to-toe battle, as a fan i would be thrilled by the excitement that it brings to me unlike when it is a boxing clinic it will seem predictable on who will win the fight.
although i wouldnt mind seeing a boxing clinic if two fighters come into the fight and theres n clear-cut favorite, then one fighter displays a boxing lesson on his opponent.
I usually enjoy the boxing clinics more, but this argument depends on many variables, for example: some unskilled fighters have to go toe to toe, some light punchers have to box smart, that's why I like power-boxers who could outbox a better puncher and if you press the action you just get k.o.
hw division: toe to toe battle
every other division: boxing clinic
but I like both if they are excuted properly. though for the hw division, I don't ever like to see a boxing clinic. that just defeats the whole purpose of that division which is to see the most powerful punchers in the world use their arsenal at its fullest potential.
I prefer masterful boxing, especially when the fighter has power. I like toe to toe battles as well, but nothing is more interesting then seeing a boxer use his advantages and out box his opponent that has only one way of winning(a knockout).
i'd say in between........i love watching a boxing clinic because it takes so much skill and discipline just to be able to do that........i appreciate it unlike most who'd call it boring
toe to toe is always good tho........thats down right exciting
i'd vote for both
The mix of both. But if i had too choose toe to toe no doubt. Ill ask you guys what's more memorable when floyd fought gatti or gatti vs ward? The toe to toe fight not the clinic
Depends on the fighters. I'd much rather watch Mijares-Arce then two guys on ESPN slugging it out (current ESPN...the guys that aren't titlists)
I am feeling you on that. And I love watching guys like Mayweather, Winky, Hopkins etc. who dont get his often, and generally dominate their opponent.
Then again guys like Vazquez and Pac are always fun to watch.
Real fans of boxing can enjoy both ends of the sport, IMHO.
