Now, the reason I ask this is because, surprisingly, I see more and more hardcore Pac fans who say a 3rd fight doesn't need to happen, the business is settled, Pacquiao won convincingly, etc. I know I am not a minority when I feel that BECAUSE their first fight was a draw and BECAUSE the 2nd fight could have gone either way, a 3rd fight should happen...
BUT
It doesn't have to happen IMMEDIATELY. For anyone to claim that Pacquiao HIMSELF is cherry picking by fighting DLH is just plain ludicrous because he is moving up in weight to fight a natural middleweight who can still punch and Pacquiao is not gifted with the same abilities as the former P4P King, Floyd Mayweather Jr. possesed so basically, DLH is a dangerous fight for him.
But why not after the DLH fight? But no, these "boxing fans" don't even want to entertain the thought of a 3rd fight. Why is that? Almost everyone in the know wants to see a 3rd, but not these dudes.
Chad Dawson is one of my favorite figthers and he struggled against Johnson. I felt he won the fight by one point, but it was a REALLY close fight which most felt could have gone any way. I feel that Chad should rematch Johnson in the future and to brush away any feelings about him not truly showing he was the better fighter. As a Chad Dawson fan, I want him to prove that HE is the better fighter and the Johnson fight did not clearly show that.
Did Marquez/Pacquiao II CLEARLY show Pac is the better fighter? Most feel it didnt. Most except...........hardcore Pac fans. So, why dont they want the 3rd to happen AT ALL?
If the Judge would have gave Pac that 10-6 round 1 we wouldn't have this debate. Pac would have beat JMM twice. JMM should clean out the division by beating Campbell than beat Chris John. By that time Pac would have fared OK against Oscar and humiliated Hatton. Than a Mega fight for PAC and JMM
You don't even have to ask of course there afraid. They were afraid of a 2nd fight a 3rd fight puts there blood pressure in danger. Wkie Salud or whatever his name if a Pacquiao advisor before the 2nd Marquez fight said, Pacquiao should never fight Marquez again and if he does he should wait till Marquez gets very old and im sure he'll listen this time around as he's trying to stay away from Marquez as much as he can.
As a serious question to you do you really think that Marquez believes that he is 2-0 against Pacquiao?? Because nobody in their right mind chases a 3rd fight with someone they already beat twice. Only losers ask for rematches and in Marquez's head he is a winner so it makes no sense
after maybe hatton or pbf.
when jmm aged 37 is he an old shot fart boxer and out of prime?
thats when pac will fight him for the 3rd time. :boxing::asshole:
hardcore pac fans are like de la hoya fans, they only watch boxing because of him, that why de la hoya fans won't know about the weight difference and still order the fight, i know this has nothing to do with the topic but i just wanted to state my opinion
Letsee...if I was a boxing fan what fight would I want to see Pac in...Pac v. Hatton, Pac v. Mayweather Jr., Pac v. Valuev or Pac v. Marquez 3....tough choice. I'd definitely want to see Marquez kiss the canvas again though :lol1:

Not at all, unlike the remartch, Pac won't struggle to make the weight. At 135, he is stronger, has the same speed and still improving. Marquez, on the other hand, is slower and not better at 135 than 130. Beating Casamayor is not impresssive as people say it is, this guy lost to a nobody like Santa Cruz and almost to a "C" fighter with punching power, Katsidis.
For the 3rd fight, Marquez won't see Pac after some rounds. His face will be cover with blood, more than the rematch.
But before a 3rd fith with Marquez, I want to see him fight other guys too.
Did Marquez/Pacquiao II CLEARLY show Pac is the better fighter? Most feel it didnt. Most except...........hardcore Pac fans. So, why dont they want the 3rd to happen AT ALL?
Well no, but it did a better job than the first fight.
First fight was a debacle, Pac hurt JMM way too easily and too badly. Marquez out boxed Pac too easily as well.
In the second fight I saw basically an even fight, back a fourth, with the KD giving Pac the fight.
If Pac is still in any condition to compete at the world class level post DLH, and if Marquez can defend his linear title, Id love to see a rubber match.
Thats easy dude, just look up posts by ferocity, viva mexico, xcaret and company and you will see alot of examples.
I just exposed him with his own stupid thread.
Can you post up various examples of these fans claiming JMM was robbed? Because I can sure as hell post examples of Pac fans saying there is no need for a 3rd. :)

i say a 3rd fight needs to happen just to shut the fuckin haters up!!!
On the reals, as a Boxing fan 1st as well as a Pac Fan, i think it does need to happen, and if all goes right, we could possibly have a 4th fight if pac loses, i think that would be sick......
Hmm, it's a tough call. You make valid points I just wonder if Mayweather would get offensive. I'm sure he'd feel Pacquiao's power out for the first few rounds to decide if he can turn the heat up on him. Somehow I still think Mayweather walks about with the win.
Maybe. Its definitely possible but I personally would like Marquez's chances better. His obession with Pac has definitely improved him exponentially

pac already beat him twice and after dlh destroys pac it won't even be a fight worth pursuing because pac will be ruined. they could fight for the money, but after dlh wrecks pac its a worthless fight.
pac won both fights with marquez, they were both close as hell but he won them. the problem is marquez fans score all the even rounds for marquez and all the pac fans score the even rounds for pac, when they need to just be 10-10 rounds.
anyways, im a big pac fan, i want the 3rd fight to happen sometime or another, if pac retires without the 3rd fight he wont be the fighter i thought he was. same for calzaghe and pavlik.
Are you sure?? There's several articles with Schaeffer and Marquez saying he's officially 2-0 and yet they're the ones chasing the rematch.:lol1:
I definetly thought marquez won both (along with MANY others) but notice I said OFFICIALLY.
I agree with you for the most part but floyd's counters are different from Marquez counters because of style. Marquez gets more weight behind his counters.
If floyd was to hurt Pac it would either be from a offensive which is where Pac wants him or from accumulation like you said. But i think Floyd would not be able to get that accumulation solely by relying on counters. He'd have to churn out some offense or risk getting outpointed despite landing the cleaner blows

I thought Marquez looked great in that fight.
The overall result of the fight was great, but I thought he waited too long alot and missed opportunities to beat up on a dude that obviously had no answer for anything he was doing anyway
See I think Pacquiao would have to engage Mayweather. Whenever anyone's just straight boxed Pacquiao he's struggled. Both guys have good chin's but I really think that Mayweather could knock Pacquiao out. It would be from an accumulation of punches but I don't think Pacquiao is going to try and box with Floyd. He'll pressure in and get countered all night.
