Canelo just announced via instagram that the fight is going down on July 12th

May 10th prime time Saturday night on ESPN. Legit. Apparently espn paid good $ for this fight. Dan Rafael just reported it on his blog

I would really like to see humberto soto vs. pacquiao. This fight makes more sense than the valero fight to me. Both these fighters come to whoop ass and it makes for an exciting fight. Soto has paid his dues while valero has beat nobodies. Anyone agree?

With the knockout losses of Ponce de Leon and Carlos Quintana how do you guys rank these divisions? Does quintana drop below margarito since he got beat real bad?

He needs to fight the winner of mora/forrest (for the vacant ring belt & wbc strap) in september followed by the winner of cotto/marg in december at 154 pounds. These are the fights that make the most sense. At first I was thinking winky wright but he is rather boring and doesn't bring much to the table. Plus he probably can't even make 154, oscar will not fight above 154.

Which one would you guys rather order, if any? I'm a huge arce fan and its fun watching this guy fight, also ulises solis will defend his title on one of the undercards. On the other hand mijares vs. munoz has way more significance because its the first time in a long time the 115 lb will be unified, plus mijares is a great tactician. I'm probably gonna go with mijares vs. munoz.

I know bob arum convinced las vegas to let cotto use 8oz gloves but are they gonna change the rule or just allow it for the one fight? Las vegas should either change the rule or tell arum to fuck off. There should be no special treatment for anyone. 10oz is better imo for the safety of the fighters.
