Fuuuuck Golden Boy And Hbo!!!

Have you guys never ordered a Top Rank ppv? Because Mario Lopez does commentary for Top Rank every now and then. Got to youtube type in mario lopez boxing or sparring, you'll see him box. The ppv view at first had a cheap view to it but the announcers knew what they were talking about. I know one of them is a long time boxing announcer then other a long time boxing writer. I think they were too biased towards Casamayor. I thought it was a tough fight but i thought Marquez was ahead by a few points.

I don't know how people didn't know this wasn't gonna be a legit HBO PPV. There were articles about it, people mentioned it throughout the week. That being said all those "independent" PPVs look the same. 80s production, 2nd rate commentators. It's all about the content. Some Top Rank PPVs have a bunch of decent fights, ok. But yesterday's had two throw away fights, one decent fight, and the main event. That isn't enough. P.S. I thought Mario Lopez actually did a decent job, be grateful Doug Fischer wasn't there like on the Calderon broadcast.

Why not just use the HBO team? because there's a guy name shaefer and also de la hoya their some of the greediest, dirtiest people in the business so they charged almost what a hbo ppv would cost but left out everything what a HBO ppv card is and plugged in some low budget employees which makes profits higher for golden boy. Notice Golden Boy didn't really mention anything about how the show was put together. They knew it would affect sales so they kept quiet.

Ditto here..loved the fight but couldn't stand the coverage,etup, commentary etc.

I thought it was pretty good for a promoter's own show. Much better then a Don King or a Latin Fury card. Sure they might cost less, but I didn't mind the commentators. Sure I'd love to see Lamps, but I thought it was worth every penny last night. Great night of fights.

Everything about Golden Boy producing it was corny and looked cheap to me. It looked like it was a ESPN friday night fights event. Their TV graphics looked cheap. Im paying 50 bucks can I at least get a high definition fight? HBO PPV>GBP, TOP RANK, Don king PPV dude i spent like 15 minutes lookin for the high def channel !!!! lol lol i couldnt believe they didnt offer the fight in high def what the fuckin fuck was that about man !!!!

i was also not happy with it... it said hbo, where the hbo crew at.. lol however i think ac slater definetly found his proper job.. he always is talking boxing n doing little bits of shadowboxing on those danceshows lol, u can tell he is not in his element on them hahaha.. he has some passion for boxing so why not let him do tha commentary shit, he isnt bad at it.. could be the next joe rogan lol Yeah Lopez didnt do bad, at least they didnt let someone who doesnt know shit about boxing get on there. he knows some shit, ive seen on tv being at some fights before. and yeah u could see why when HBO crew puts on a show for boxing, its grade A shit, we should appreciate the HBO crew !!!!!!!!!!

Next time Golden Boy will get it right. They already have George Lopez signed as color commentator and he will be attempting comedy again.

HBO PPV distributed this card, but they did not produce it. What about that is confusing people here?

This is the first time GBP is doing their own PPV production w/o Big Brother HBO, and yes it did suck. But give 'em some time. I'm sure everyone has had the experience of falling off their bikes the first time their training wheels were removed, agreed. Here's a quote from D. King "You have to crawl before you walk and walk before you run." King and Arum have been promoters since the 70's and 80's. So give GBP time. I get your analogy but I never got paid millions while learning to ride my bike. They maybe should have charged 1/2 of what HBO normally does say $29.99? Either way I didn't shell out the bucks for this one so I have no legitimate gripe.

Agreed when I heard the intro with the commercials I was lke WTF is this? Horrible,Lopez sucks,Borges and Tompkins sucked and JEEZZ baby face Garcia is horrible never wanna see that guy on a PPV show again

I thought the same thing. Golden Boy sucks and so does DLH, he fucks up just about everything I enjoy about boxing. Anyone know of an email or # so we can voice our opinion to hbo? yeah plus he's still fighting too, what a bummer. The guy from Saved By The Bell doing commentary on a HBO PPV :nonono: I agree, quite lame, the coverage really should have included Screetch.

I agree I ordered it and it was second rate. But I still thought it was a pretty good card.

Yeah, the "Golden Boy PPV" thing was lame as fuck. I watched a stream, I prefer HBO by miles, and miles.
