Someone needs to tell Antonio that some fighters aren't meant to be making a whole lot of money. Since when Antonio's fans give a shit about his purse? He should forget about Oscar and face Williams. I also wanna see him fight Clottey who called him out last night.

Good post. I don't recall Floyd getting killed for the first fight either, just the rematch that never happened. I had no problem with Floyd fighting DLH the first time at all. My problems came with people trying to give him full credit for beating a 34 year old guy with one fight in more than two and a half years and 9 years after his peak at #1 p4p. And then the rematch. DLH now has at least fought 3 times in the last 15 months, won two of those, SD to the #1 p4p in the other. Margarito has been a pro for 15 years, mostly fighting for peanuts and just broke down and stopped a top 5 p4p fighter. I think he deserves a megapayday.

i dont understand how a fighter who was universally seen as the number one fighter p4p, and the linear welterweight champion, no matter who he beat for it, would have to be questioned as to why he "deserved" the fight. he was undefeated and p4p number 1, oscar was not campaigning at welterweight, therefore floyds lack of a great resume at that weight means nothing, he was seen as the best fighter on the planet going into 2 straight years, thats reason enough, you people are being real stupid about this.

Nobody's making excuses for Floyd... everybody knows why he wanted to fight DLH. Everybody knows why Margarito wants to fight DLH... but you either have to say it's ok for both to do it or for neither, is the whole point. The justifications and standards are clearly different, i think margarito and floyd did alot to get their respective paydays, because i am not a hater, honestly, i am happy to see a guy like margarito who i think is limited, make the money hes making after being largely ignored by the boxing elite.
