I was a fan of cotto before the fight and I am after the war he had this past weekend. I give Marg all the credit in the world though. Tough guy! Cotto will be back and at some point better than ever! Just don't take a rematch right away cotto.........Now let's see if Margarito can deal with Williams? I would love to see D Santos go back down to challenge Margarito again to bring the welterweight belts back to P.R.

Cotto is lucky he wasn't in there with Paul Williams, he had trouble with Margarito who punches slower then anybody, if he fought Williams he would've left in a pine box. I told all of you Cotto dickriders he has a weak chin and always fades late in fights. His "boxing" is hilarious, he's very slow footed, circles always to the left, with his hands down. if cotto had just focused on that body on going in and coming back out while hitting that body .. maybe the fight could have panned out differently. what a fight - in defeat, cotto - in spite of what all these bitches out here are trying to substantiate saying that he quit - went out like a man and tried his best against a guy who was just bigger than him. margarito's chin is made of granite. Lol guys. He didn't go to the body for a reason. People who have boxed know why. To put it simply there's a saying to help explain for our non boxers here. Committing to the body. When you throw body punches you commit yourself with your foot work by planting your feet. He couldn't afford to do that against Margarito. He had to move and box and throwing to the body would just allow Marge to trade and get the better of the exchanges. That's why Cotto did not go the body. A jab to the body you can argue he should have thrown more but not actual power punches to the body. PS I'm a Cotto fan and I post here still. I picked Marge to win after the weigh in and sucks that my prediction materialized the way it did. He'll probably take the year off and come back in March hopefully with more resolve and determination.

Cotto will be back. There will be a rematch a little down the road. Cotto will win another title and then rematch. But for now let Margarito and his fans enjoy this great victory.

I have to give props to Cotto fans for showing good behavior after the fight. They gave plenty of props to the winner, and I barely saw any excuses. You don't see that often after big fights from loyal fans, or "nuthuggers" lol.

There's a reason why he didnt go to the body. First off, he'd have to get in close, this was suicide against Margarito. I dont think he had stamina problems, I think it's mainly Margarito body attack that slowed Cotto down.Your exactly right Marg was bangin' that body all night...I guess he was thinking Cotto's supposed to have a great body attack let's see how he can stand up to this mexican warrior's body attack. Or maybe it was because most of the fight Cotto kept his hands up and was slipping punches beautifully he just decided to go for the body...but anyway it was a great fight and I will be telling my son about this one when he's old enough to understand and maybe my grandkids one day, it was truely a classic and both fighters should have made their race very proud.
