i agree i think to many fighters now are lazy and undiscpline now. you can tell by them by going up and down in weight btw fights. i think very few would make it except b-hop and mayweather. i also think my boy would have more ko's due to more rounds yep, especially for a fighter like hopkins, who always shows up in condition, it would suit him perfectly to go for the knockout. he is the type that wears his opponents down, going 15 rounds with a a fighter like b-hop is a major test. some other fighter that come to mind are alexis arguello, who could maintain a good pace and come on strong to finish the show. it's all in conditioning.
plus it's a good way to eliminate unsatisfying close draws with that distance. sure in a 15 round contest boxers fight to a draw as well, but it still eliminates those possibilities by a long way. we'd see more heart, and will put on display
today's heavies barely go 5 rounds without slowing down significantly. gone are the days when Ali put on a show for 15 rounds, and gave his opponents a boxing lesson.
i
i think it would make these sloppy heavyweights get in shape
Its not so much for the heavyweights as it is everyone south of heavyweight. Vlad is the only heavyweight well conditioned to go 15rds today if he had to, and tye fields is taking over after he retires anyway. The switch would be for the lower weights who seem to keep having 1 close controversial championship fight after another.
i voted for 15 myself, it's true that after 12 rounds it get's a little exhausting, but some fighters today barely even train to go 10 rounds without seriously tiring. if it was 15 rounds again, then possibly more lazy fighters would have that extra incentive to train harder knowing they would have to outlast their opponent for a longer period of time.
besides all the great fighters in the past had done it. they were tougher and better conditioned. those extra three rounds is the distance that separates men from boys. im a boxer, and if i had to choose id pick 15 rounds, to see what im made of, and if im disciplined enough to make it through both mentally and physically

15 rounds all the way. Old skool warrior distance separates the boys from the true champions and gets rid of these tap tap run point fighters i hate so much. Think of all the important fights that were close in recent memory but the heart and conditioning difference was apparent. Glen Johnson, Manny Pacquiao, and Israel Vasquez all became increasingly stronger in the later rounds of their fights and would have won decisively with no controversy had they gone 15 rounds.

I don't think 75% of these boxers are even prepared to go the whole 12, let alone 15! I still picked 15rds for championship fights, b/c it eliminates the even rounds, increasing the chances of a DRAW! For BIG/IMPORTANT fights we need CLARITY... like a couple people said before me; 13 is fine; as long as we can have a DECISIVE WINNER!
13 rounds and get rid of "even rounds" sounds good to me.
I agree, too many draws with all these even round fights.
A lot of fights would have been different had they only been 12 rounds, like Leonard/Hearns I. I can see them not wanting 13 because of the superstition, but we def need more odd numbered round fights, especially in championship fights.
13.5 is sufficient for me. also the cost of a brick where im from if anyone wants to network.
When you say network, you're talking about trading boxing tapes, right? :dunno:
do you like the old 15 round distance over today's standard 12 rounds? would you want that rule reinforced today? place your votes
12 rounds is fine with me, and if a round is even, then score it even. If the fight is a draw, then it is a draw. I'd rather be accurate then decisive.
15 rounds would be fine with me but most fighters are dead tired by the end of 12 in a competitive fight even when they have good stamina. Much props to the old school fighters that used to do that shit.
