There seems to be a large number of people on here who believe that a fight between Malignaggi and Hatton would be similar to last week's battle between Mayweather and Hatton with Hatton once again falling to a superior boxer.
My question then is this: does that mean that a fight between Cotto and Mayweather would be similar to the Cotto Malignaggi fight, specifically the boxer gets his face smashed up by the more powerful fighter?
He has faster hands and a better jab..IMO...and Im HUGE Floyd fan.
I disagree with the faster hands thing, but I'll agree Paulie has used his jab more effectively as of late. I still think Floyd's jab may be better, though. He just hasn't stuck with it like Paulie does in every fight. I'm not saying you're wrong. I just don't particularly agree... and I'm not a die-hard Mayweather fan.
Where do people get that Paulie's faster than Mayweather. He's slick, but he's not faster than Floyd. There's not one thing in Paulie's repertoire that he's better at than Money. I thought Paulie was a fraud before the Cotto fight, but he proved to me that he's tough, and has a huge heart. He would need that against Hatton, because Ricky would bully him around the entire fight, and take a somewhat easy decision. Hatton cuts easily, but I guarantee Malignaggi would be lookin' rough by the final bell, too. Don't forget he had a brief stint in the hospital after the Cotto fight.
Paulie is not in the same league as Mayweather.
Mayweather is sensational and Hatton never really stood a chance against him at welterweight, especially in the US with that cunt of a ref.
I think Hatton would stop Paulie. He has something to prove now. He needs a BIG performance in his next encounter, a big KO is coming infront of a Manchester audience I'm thinking.
I'd love to see him fight Witter personally, but Paulie would be an entertaining opponent.
Malignaggi may be a more 'slick' boxer than Hatton but his defensive skills are nowhere near Floyd's. And without an impenitrable defense, Hatton will be all over this kid like a cheap suit. I think Hatton roughs out Pauli so much, that he takes him out of his rythmn and makes him fight his fight...My prediction: Hatton by TKO 8.
And not too mention COTTO hits WAY harder than HATTON.
I'd say MILLS gets a decision maybe.,
He may hit soft but he can take a beating like Frazier/Gatti.
I could see him outboxing hatton. I dont think hatton will K.O. him if Coots couldnt even do it after he fractured his face.
Define way harder because that sounds alot to me like guesswork.
I could see Paulie winning a decision. This guy is as slick as they come. Did you see his last fight? He fuckin schooled Ndou. One of the best 12 round performances of the year.

Completely different fight.
Malignaggi is a skilled boxer yes but he does not have the strength to keep Hatton off nor the skills overall that Mayweather has.
In the Mayweather fight, Floyd played Hatton at his own game and used 'rough' house tactics to disrupt Hatton's game. His inside work especially his defense was awesome and he cutely held on and pushed his forearm into Hatton throat and face, thus partially stopping Hatton from working.
Add this against his brilliant 'outside' skills and power and what you were left with was a Hatton with no idea's.
Can you honestly see Malignaggi being able to do this?
Remember Malignaggi isn't the biggest Jnr Welter and cannot break an egg with his shots.
Completely different fight and I feel it will be a late stoppage or UD to Hatton.
The main problem I see for Malignaggi is that on the inside he doesn't have the tools to give Hatton the problems that Mayweather did. Floyd gave as good as he got if not more whereas Malignaggi is a bit too clean cut to rough Hatton up.
Exactly, Malignaggi is not an inside fighter, so the referee will probably play a bigger part in this fight than the Mayweather fight. But either way I see Hatton winning a decision if they don't get broken up too quickly, because he'll have something to prove to the fans as well as himself.

Mayweather doesnt need that much space to get off punches that do damage, Malignaggi would have to have the same ability which i dont think he does, the fight is close, also Paulie also doesnt have an impenetrable shell like Mayweather does, he can be hit.
Malignaggi will most certainly not KO Hatton but it is reasonable to say he will win a wide margin decision.............if they fight in the U.S. that is
No, it won't be like Mayweather-Hatton. Malignaggi is fast but he doesn't have the power to keep Hatton off him. The referee will play a part in this fight as well, but I think Hatton will win a decision.

I really don's see feather fisted malagnaggi beating Hatton-mayweather won cause he is just-better than hatton all round- i don't think paulie will do the same thing he will get bulied by hatton the way mayweather would not let him do

no, hatton walks through malignaggis punches and puts him down, multiple times before the ref stops it. malignaggi cant hit worth shit, floyd can...
No way Paulie Stops Hatton......but I could see Floyd/Cotto taking a similar path to Paulie/Cotto.....but Floyd does have more power than Paulie so I think he could keep him away better without running as much as Paulie Does.
