Was the Barkley fight AFTER the RJJ fight? because Toney looked alot more energetik and stronger in that fight. He didnt look like the same Toney who lost to RJJ.
I am amazed at the way Roy outclassed Toney. I never had the chance to watch the whole fight before. James is a great, the fact Roy beat him in that manner is mind boggling.
I dunno if that was it but I did like that cut scene interview.
keep watching, they might say something about toney hanging out with the king...kind of makes me hungry now
i don't know if i'd call it an eating disorder but i remember his old trainer saying he'd find burger king bags under james bed... james had to drop 46 lbs in a month for this fight, but back then he was only getting up to 200 lbs in between fights, now he comes down from about 275

I like the part where they keep doing cuts and going back to Arum when talking about Toney's weight.haha. Arum" Toney had a eating disorder" cut scene.:lol1: :lol1:

there showing prime Roy Jones jr. And looking back he had great speed, and he's like a cat with his reflexes.
The most gifted fighter of all time.

Yeah they said he won his first amateur fight. I think they said he went 33-2 as an amateur.
Anyone know if there is a TV listing for this channel? I'd like to know in advance, I caught this by pure chance.
It's coming back on at 11.
I also like the ring entrance songs they played. I know Roy Jones song was Thuggish Ruggish Bone I think and Toney also had a good song. It definitely reminded me of the early and mid 90's.
man, Versus usually doesnt put fights up, but when they do stuff like this, its awesome! I really like the way they do it all, they have good quality video, give backround info on the fighters with Buffer, and I love those little fan facts haha.
Thats hilarious that Toney punched Sanders in training camp, I was very surprised when I heard that, haha. That fight must have went well, he decided to go into boxing afterward hahaha.
And how the hell can you have an amateur fight at age 10 geez! did it actually say he won it? I dont recall that.
I like this program. last time i saw it it had a almost prime Hagler fighting Vito Atefuermo(sp?) for the first time, which is one I never had the chance to see before. Its not on much, but its really good when it is.
Also, yall keep in mind theyre showin Clottey fight on the 20th
Did you guys hear what they just said? I didnt' know that Toney was offer two scholorships by two different colleges and that he got thrown out of one college for punching Deion Sanders, then they say after that he went into boxing. So doesn't that mean that Toney started boxing late? At what age did Toney start boxing?
That's funny he got into a fight with Deion. Man Toney must have been a badass football player as well to get scholarship offers. It's crazy to look at him now and know that at one time he was tremendous athlete.

I think they said Toney's first amatuer fight was at 10 and he went on to compile a record of like 33-2.
Wow, Jones was fast!
I still can't get over how small Toney used to be.
I remember watching the Tim Littles fight on Versus a year ago, and laughing the whole 1st round because JT was so slim. It seems cartoony, doesn't it?
Ferocity, you're the man for this.
I just ran upstairs to see that I'd missed the first 30 minutes. But I got lucky- they're re-airing it at 11. That's definitely getting tivo'd.
