mosley-dlh 1: with only 2 fights @ ww, shane becomes the first to clearly beat the great oscar de la hoya.
mayweather-corrales: floyd schools and dominates top 5 p4p fighter chico, dropping him 5 times.
barrera-hamed: haveek gets his head thrown into the ringpost and wins 2-3, rounds maybe.
hopkins-trinidad: hopkins schools and dominates tito, a top 2 p4p and maybe an atg in his prime
forrest-mosley 1: the viper dominates p4p king mosley
pacquiao-barrera: manny moves up and beats the tar out of top 5 p4p and atg barrera
barrera-morales 3: barrera moves up to 130 and wins a war over morales
hatton-tszyu: ricky becomes king of 140 and makes the great tszyu quit. tszyu was in the top 5 p4p list.
hopkins-tarver: hopkins jumps 2 divisions and wins 11-1 against ring mag champ tarver.
Steal,
I think the Mayweather performance vs. Gatti is a legitimate candidate. This thread was "best performance", not "best win".
Floyd was absolutely brilliant that night. It was ridiculous. He was such in the zone that you almost can't find anything that he did wrong. There were a couple of rounds when Gatti did not land a punch. PBF landed 80% of punches thrown in round six. Eighty percent.
The Uncle Roger/Floyd intention was to inflict punishment on Gatti. They were very sadistic that night. If you listen to Roger's comments in the corner, he tells Floyd not to throw bodyshots, and they talk about "letting it sink in". They wanted to extend the fight.
The fact that he was able to land staright shots in succession with the same hand was incredible. Gatti was a sitting duck.
barrera-morales 3: barrera moves up to 130 and wins a war over morales
.
Barrera Morales I was a way better fight. Major robbery on Barrera.
I dont know the answer to your question

What about Corrales - Castillo?
or the Ward - Gatti scraps?
for those claiming calzaghe-lacy is the best.....joe was beating jeff lacy.
vernon forrest was dominating shane mosley.
manny pacquiao was dominating marco antonio barrera.
bernard hopkins was dominating felix trinidad.
u do the math.
Ha ha. I'm just doing what FMJ fans tend to do spin.
Anyway, you are no one to judge. You admitted a while back that you have only been watching boxing for 2 years. I got 6 years on ya kid.
Wrong, I admitted that I had been seriously watching since January, so less than the 2 years you referred too.
However, I think I have a skill that all you veterans of watching boxing either don't have, or refuse to put on display.
I do this thing called answering arguments while making arguments of my own. Most people on this thread can't seem to get a good grasp on that. They resort to personal insults when things aren't going their way.
You are El Campeon aren't you?
EDIT: My 8 months of watching is more than it seems, because I have been constantly downloading and watching old fights to try to have a decent perspective on most of the big names today, so I can talk about them with some knowledge, and know what to expect when I watch them in a live fight.
Ha ha. I'm just doing what FMJ fans tend to do spin.
I Think if you have been on this or any other board long enough, every fan of a popular fighter spins something in some way. I remember when it was Tyson, then Roy Jones, Tito etc etc
Totally true. Not really up in the discussion considering there are great fighters who neutralized other great fighters in their fights.
However, Floyd-Gatti was one of the only fights that has made me think of the "FLAWLESS VICTORY" phrase in Mortal Kombat.
MOOOOOOOORTAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL KOOOOOOOOOMBAAAAAAAAAT
It was also very grown up and adult like to use the phrase mortal combat in a boxing senence.
kids....
Yes, historical references diminish the point you are trying to get across. You should really teach both English and Communications, because you are telling me the opposite shit that I hear from them.
he was beating up arturo "catchers mitt" gatti. that's why it is not on the list.

Purely guessing, I would say Vernon Forrest beating the invincible, undefeated, P4P #1 Shane Mosley by a wide margin, including a knockdown.
Two knockdowns actually.
i had to pick hopkins-trinidad because hopkins was widely seen as the underdog that trinidad was going to blowout the water, at least that is what the so called experts and the majority of boxing fans thought. and it was the exact opposite, hopkins put on a masterful performance dominating the whole fight until ko, he destroyed trinidads will, his heart, and desire inside the ring when hopkins was supposed to be the one who was to get destroyed. i had hopkins the whole way ever since the beginning of that tournament and had no doubt that he was going to win, but i didn't expect him to completely shut out and embarrass trinidad the way he did and i'm glad he did because all the people who had trinidad were all disrespectful towards hopkins saying stuff like he didn't belong in the ring with trinidad and that hopkins was nothing, and hopkins flip the script on all of those who were disrespectful.
truly a great performance, love him or hate him hopkins is and was the man....................
You should also add Mayweather's demolition on Arturo Gatti to that list. It was a masterclass of boxing by PBF that night.
