honorable mentions should go to miranda/abraham. arthurs broken jaw flopping back and forth when miranda connected is right up there. i bet abraham wished he was knocked out.
Honorable mention for KO of the year goes to a 12 round decision??
Uhhhh....no.
Give me a good one. One of the best I saw from then (or was it last year??) was a lesser known boxer so it won't have got that much exposure: Carl Thompson. His come-from-behind TKO of David Haye was almost as masturbatory as the ultimate "I'm way behind and getting hammered, but here's an out cold haymaker to chew on" of Sebastian Rothmann.
Green v Codrington.
edit: the haye fight was in 2004 I think.
Oh wait, yeah, Brock vs. Lawrence. I thought the poor bastard was dead at first.
His body went limp while he was still standing up and then his head smashed against the canvas.
Damn that punch was huge.
People are looking at the wrong Brock fight.
Brock's KO of Zuri Lawrence was sickening, as some have pointed out now as I look back.
I'd also add the Demetrius Hopkins KO was spectacular as well.
Is it fair to say that although there have been some good fights, there haven't been many spectacular KOs this year?
2004 was the year of the knockout.
I will go with De Leon vs Sod.
The guy put his whole body with a right hand and De Leon put whole body on his left. That is way it so brutal including De Leon is a puncher but there first fight Sod lost by UD
Mike Mollo KTFO Kevin Mcbride. Personally, one of my favs this year.
fk yeah i loved that one...........i saved it on my desktop and watched it nearly every day...was magnificent......
other great KO's were Maskaev vs Rahman and Briggs vs Liakhovich ...of course due to the last second action!
