At the time Diego Chaves was not impressed with Kell Brook’s withdrawal from their proposed October 2015 contest. Indeed, he had a few choice words for the Sheffield man on his own Facebook account. Arriving back in his adopted land of Panama this week, Liborio Solis is remarkably philosophical when talking to BoxingScene.com about his controversial defeat to Jamie McDonnell last Saturday in Monte Carlo. The last time fans in the United States saw Diego Chaves (24-2-1, 20 KOs) was back in December 2014 when he earned a credible draw with Timothy Bradley in Las Vegas. Diego Chaves (24-2-1, 20 KOs), who has fought only once since his December 2014 draw with Timothy Bradley will be back in the ring on November 18 in his native Argentina. Chaves fought in July in a non-televised bout, also in Argentina, claiming a technical knockout victory over Jorge Daniel Miranda. This time he takes on Luis Pablo Zarate (21-3, 12 KOs) in Quilmes, Buenos Aires.
This Saturday night in Monte Carlo, Liverpool’s Stephen Smith (24-2, 14 KOs) has his second chance this year to win a world title when he challenges Jason Sosa (19-1-4, 15 KOs) for the WBA featherweight title.

Top heavyweight contender Luis Ortíz makes his debut for Matchroom Boxing next Saturday in Monte Carlo against experienced campaigner Malik Scott. The Cuban is also scheduled to fight on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s clash with Eric Molina on December 10 in Manchester. ‘King Kong’s manager Juan Jiménez told BoxingScene.com that his charge is looking forward to making his mark as the first non-UK fighter signed by Eddie Hearn.
Jason Sosa (19-1-4, 15 KOs) may have surprised some with his tremendous knockout victory of Javier Fortuna last June in China, but the New Jersey man is aiming to further enhance his growing reputation with a victory over Britain’s Stephen Smith (24-2, 14 KOs) on November 12.
Former world title challenger Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (34-2, 20 KOs) is now training in Miami with Pedro Díaz and his Mundo Boxing team.
Not for the first occasion in recent times, International Boxing Federation [IBF] super featherweight champion José Pedraza (22-0, 12KOs) finds himself in a frustrating situation.
