Former world title challenger Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (34-2, 20 KOs) is now training in Miami with Pedro Díaz and his Mundo Boxing team.
N’Dam, whose only two professional losses have come via decisions to Peter Quillin and David Lemieux, recently took part in the Rio Olympics 2016 boxing tournament where he was defeated by Michel Borges at the first hurdle.
He has, however, recently been linked with a possible challenge to World Boxing Organization [WBO] champion Billy Jo Saunders.
Meanwhile, Díaz also currently trains World Boxing Association [WBA] super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux as well as light heavyweight contender Yunieski González. González is scheduled to fight on November 11 in Miami.
The Cuban coach told BoxingScene.com this week via text message that they are still awaiting the next move for Rigondeaux after his victory over James ‘Jazza’ Dickens back in July.
IN OTHER NEWS: With the NRL done and dusted for another season, Cronulla skipper Paul Gallen has turned attention to his other sporting career, boxing.
Speaking to media, Gallen was happy to reel off a list of names that he'd consider stepping into the ring against, with none other than injured All Blacks centre Sonny Bill Williams at the top of his hit-list.
"I've said openly I want to fight Sonny Bill" Gallen told Fox Sports. "Unfortunately we haven't heard the same thing said back so I'm not sure that he wants to.
"We were looking at February next year but obviously that won't happen, so maybe late next year."
Williams is currently recovering from a serious Achilles injury that ruled him out of rugby for the season.
Gallen is undefeated in his boxing career, winning all five of his professional bouts.
